Michael Maguire releases his train on squad for the Blues today and Stefano is not in it.
Interesting article in News today that makes the point that Madge would know that if Stef does not play SoO it triggers a release clause in Stefs Contract. Seems to leave the door open for some pretty nasty pettiness from Madge.
IMO Stef would be at least entitled to the train on squad. Madge could have some scores to settle.

Is Madge really the vindictive type? I could well be wrong but I’ve always perceived him as more the “turn the other cheek” type of personality.He loves the hardnut,tough uncompromising type of player but perhaps he has a particular benchmark?I can see why maybe he hasn’t seen fit for Stefano’s inclusion at this stage.I think Fano could afford to be a little more extrovert and domineering on the field.We’ve seen glimpses of it but his career thus far has been peppered with minor injuries and a little stop start.I believe it’s here and now up to him to start making waves.No doubt he has the potential in spades.

I agree with all of these points.
I dont see Madge as that vindictive to affect Stefano's career. He's been pretty quiet about Wests since being sacked, it's not like hes been Ivan cleary evil.
Also, I still think Stefano needs to step up to be the alpha prop. Needs to get some mongrel, to make SOO.

He should stay If we win a few games in 24, with Jerome on his way in 25.
Steph has potential but is a long way from origin quality at this point IMHO. I would love to see him have a strong year and push for origin contention but getting into an origin squad when he doesn’t deserve it does nothing for him or us. If he chooses to leave early because his contract allows it then he isn’t staying long term anyway. I’m over players holding our club to ransom and it appears so is the new management. The ball is in his court, not ours.

I believe we show we are moving in the right direction then he will stay, if not then we have greater problems than him leaving.

I really hope he extends his contract soon. That would be a good shot in the arm just before the season starts.
Stef has to step up .. he has a long way to go … been very unimpressed with his performances last season . I would not be that fussed if he decided to move on .
