@garry apparently we rejected him, as the Luciano trade asset.Sifting through the other forum . Could be bollocks , could be true . For me Hodgson, papalli , Luki in , would be the best return .
It depends on if we are just paying sub 500k for Hodgson though lolI'd like Hodgson, but I think at about $500k the risk starts to outweigh the benefit.
Agree, what about for just two years though?

With his history of knee injuries I wouldn't want to be paying much more than $500k, though in saying that it is not like we are short of cap space.

@helmesy the issue is the cap . We have to spend up to 95% of it I think . So paying a guy like Hodgson 500k isn’t the worst . If we get 2019 Hodgson , and he’s a placeholder for Simpkins to develop for 2-3 years , I’m ok with it . The issue is like Garry says it’s a huge risk I guess . The shadow of Matt Ballin looms large I reckon .
@lestronge yep, spot on.

@lestronge We will end up having to upgrade some players mid season to spend the 95%, so I guess an extra $50-100k now probably has little impact.

@garry who’s the kid coming through that plays 9/6 but he’s electric ? I forgot his name , but he’s also on the come up as well.
I watch a lot of American sports , and this type of year is where we should front load contracts , and make astute 1-2 year veteran signings , who are looking to leave a legacy , as much as a payday .
People said benji and Robbie were washed as well . And we got 3 -4 years out of benji and 2 out of Robbie.
there’s nothing to stop us doing a 1.2mil deal for Hodgson , and putting 800-900k of that in this years salary cap .
it would totally limit the risk profile we would be taking on .

Not a bad idea mate.
Tannous? I am not great on the juniors, @declan is the one to ask.

I’d be happy if we got Hodgson. He’s a quality player and a competitor.
@avocadoontoast Is there a price where the risk becomes too great for you?

Absolutely. I’d happily chip in $500k, maybe $600k given we have a heap of cash to spend.
@garry yes Tannous has big wraps on him. His injury came at a really bad time because he played a few really good game of GIO cup for Hills sports high in the halves. Very keen to see how he goes in Jersey Flegg because we should still field a really strong team.
Firstly congratulations to all involved in getting this up and running.
im not excited about the prospect of Robson coming. I was very disappointed in Liddell last year but can’t see merit in letting him go unless we get better
I don't mind Robson but I don't think he's much of an upgrade. I'd rather see us go after a centre.
Also, @Garry, I got your PM but I can't reply to it. Getting a "You are not allowed to write a message yet" error.
@tiger5150 Would you take Hodgson?

We are desperately short at centre.
