@helmesy oh well, missing out on Cotric isn’t the end of the world.
@avocadoontoast agreed, good player but not a club transformational player.

Agree, especially if we aren’t paying overs for him.

I disagree guys. We need experienced first grade standard players. He’d have been ideal. Sure not a club changer but a high standard player. Disappointed

Yes we do, but he is not a player to get into a bidding war over. I wanted him too, but I also don't think he was that great last year.

No he wasn’t good but a year ago he was SOO wasn’t he?? Could have been a great buy. Hard not to fall into cynicism when we miss out again.
@tigersteve Its disappointing because it is a position of need.

Disappointed to miss out on Cotric. Would have made our team much more competitive in 2022 and is an origin caliber player in a position of need.
it finally seems like the club has a bit of momentum but stuff like this is a reminder that we still have a long way to go in terms of being a desirable destination.
@declan Seems it came down to money.

Maybe but it doesn’t seem like he was too keen to come to the club either. The whole reason he left Canberra in the first place was because he wanted to live in Sydney. So hearing that he’s willing to move back makes me think he doesn’t really rate us a club which was rumored on the other forum.

It is not all his decision though, the Bulldogs have to be willing to release him and its possible that once the raiders offered them more than us, then they were only willing to release him the Canberra.

Missing out on Cotric is disappointing but he's not the sort of player that would have made a massive difference. I think Thompson would add more to our team and I hope we're still talking to him.

I hope they are somehow talking to some established gun centre, that we dont know about (cant think of one available)
@tiger5150 agree, we’re in dire need for a specialist centre, ideally with a big of pace.

Id start with one that can tackle.....then pace would be a nice bonus.
