Holmes to dragons on massive 2.5m 3y deal
Thank god we didn’t chase Val. From what I’ve seen in the last couple of years, his defence has gone backwards badly. Exhibit a was the game against Toa, but there are plenty more to add to that. His goal kicking is still strong, but it’s not worth $850k/yr. The dogs winger seems like a much more savvy investment.
I've got no mail here. I enjoy speculating in the hope that new signings can drag us off the bottom
I predict that we'll sign at least one of:
- Jack Bird (has an option for the dragons for 2025 but there was talk he was exploring a longer term contract elsewhere)
- Dylan Walker (Mole on Twitter said he wants to return to Australia around two weeks ago)
My suspicion on these players is based on the fact that no other clubs have come into the picture (at least in the media)
I also think Sione Fainu will get another contract.
I think Jack Bird has long term knee issues and any club would be crazy to sign up to a multi year deal. For this reason he fits our recruitment criteria!

I hope no to Jack Bird and he doesnt seem to be the type of signing that Richo and Benji are targeting,
Its a yes from me for Dylan Walker. As Ive said before I think he could be the 13 that we hoped that Peachey & Hastings could be and importantly would allow us stop having cover for a back on the bench.
I think we need a 2nd row edge forward as well, what do think of Jack Williams? He’s been mentioned a few times on the forums before and I have barely see him play but his stats don’t look too bad. Ave 45 mins, 11 runs, 103 mtrs, 28 tkls, 2 missed tkls and seems to make a couple takle breaks each game. Would need to play 80mins though
My bulldogs mates very disappointed about losing Skelton
Rate him very highly

But Holmes’ old Sharks teammate, Jack Bird, has spoken to Benji Marshall about a possible shift to the Tigers having been granted permission to test the market despite having a year left on his Dragons deal.
Bird has struggled to find a consistent spot in the Dragons’ line-up this season and recently chatted with Marshall about his future. The Tigers are yet to decide whether they will pursue the 29-year-old and haven’t tabled a formal offer.
Smart player when he is on the field and fit, I would take him for a year or two at the right amount, pending a full physical. We lack footy IQ and effort and he brings both (when fit enough to play). But Holmes’ old Sharks teammate, Jack Bird, has spoken to Benji Marshall about a possible shift to the Tigers having been granted permission to test the market despite having a year left on his Dragons deal.

Jack quoted today saying that he wants to stay at Cronulla, whether the sharks can keep him is another matter entirely.I think we need a 2nd row edge forward as well, what do think of Jack Williams? If there isn't any other options, I would take Bird on a one year deal. However I doubt he signs for just one year. While he has had an injury plagued career, he is still mobile enough to play in the centres this year, so he could fill that right edge backrow spot in the short term. ATM we are looking at Seyfarth and Porter as our 2 options. If Birs signs then they become the back up options, which is more appropriate and better depth.
we should go for Jack Williams for lock, Klese Haas for second row. As for jack bird he does have footy IQ which we sadly lack, at the right price I would say yes but only if he can pass a full medical.
Some chat on X that J Hunt close to signing. Hope its right.
Pure speculation but I assume Moses is going to ramp up agitation again for Galvin to leave. Roosters remain the obvious destination (Moses/politis issues not withstanding). I wonder whether roosters would release Lenui in a swap deal for Galvin. Lenui is best mates with Luai and Taruva and presumably would be happy to reunite
Royce Hunt from Sharks is a prospective big middle forward. He has played for Samoa with Luai so maybe some connection/attraction to come to Tigers there?
