Why do you think they would like being coached by a rookie?
Yeah ...but he is probably a player whisperer .......why not Slater then ...the raps around him are big and probably half the price
I am a little perplexed, for the past 10 years we have had complaints about players not putting in, the boys club, a clique, players not playing for the coach or the jersey, players ousting coaches, the pea hearts winning etc. All of a sudden all over the internet people are ok with players wanting to leave the club because of a coach change, how is this any different from the sins of our players from past years? It is actively trying to influence the direction of the club by saying they will leave now the coach has been fired. It is hypercritical and I don't understand it, if players want to leave because they are unhappy with a coaching change then they can go, it is no different from sulking players of the past.
This is coming from someone who was happy for madge to see out the year to see if the minor upswing we have seen was set to continue. Smarter people than any of us decided that wasn't the way forward.
Smarter people than us .....Sheens didn't get the Sheenius tag for a reason .........and we were all ready to throw a rope over the closest tree in regards to Sheens from 2012 onwards ......I still don't get why Sheens is seen as the answer to all our prayers ....
He still won 4 premierships as a coach. All that was a long time ago but I am not going to sit here and say that I know more than Sheens, I am close but not quite there :p
Remember Sheens was the initial cap buster ...can not believe you Balmain blokes don't bring it up more often lol .....
It was one of my big concerns with him returning to the club. To be honest about it, it still worries me.

He is here because of one person ......Lee ....and who is behind many of the poor decisions being made by the club because of his influence
He is the Covid of the WT's .....

I am no fan of Lee, huge conflict of interest to have him as chair.

The worst thing was he obviously orchestrated everything yesterday ....how did the SMH know when he was showing up in his black Ferrari yesterday and able to take a pic of him entering the dongers as he came to sack Madge .....snake in the grass ...just his style ...he is an embarassment to the NRL and to the WT's .....

Slater is the opposite of a development coach" surely?
@unhappy-tiger Lee is all for show. I’m sure the Ferrari isn’t his daily driver but he wanted it for the photo.
on another note surprised Madge is a VW Tiguan driver

Doubt he’d be interested in coaching a Sydney (NSW) team.

The idea of a development coach is pure spin. You don’t develop them in NRL, they are developed before that so they can play at the NRL. NRL coaching is all about people management with some skill fine tuning. Sheens is talking bollocks.

Yeah, once you reach NRL you are complete player

I totally disagree (although I agree that "development coach" is the latest "catch phrase that everyone is spouting like they have always known what it is).
I think its a real thing but I think it has two parts. First is the development from junior reps to breaking into NRL. This is a very tricky development pathway and very few make it. We have a current crop of very good young juniors and we need someone (doesnt necessarily need to be the head coach, Sheens would be good IMO) to best carry them through this path whilst still improving them to be NRL quality.
The second part is the development of a player from worthy of an NRL debut, into a good first grader, the Sheens 50 game mantra. There have been quite a few debut under Madge but none have kicked on, or even really even improved for that matter (Stef a possible exception but debuted at Parra). A good "Development coach" takes these kids like Hoffman, Cini, Blore, Seyfarth, McIntyre, and develop them into good first graders. Ciraldo has experience of both IMO as well as first hand experience of the Pamfers systems.
Sheens was a "development coach", I see it in Ciraldo. ,Madge not so much.
So we don't announce the new coach for a month for example
How do we attract players in the next month .....Yeah Mr Munster ...the current coach is Brett Kimmorley ...the new coach is a secret ......Yep and Noddy has coached no NRL games .....Mr Munster ...Mr Munster ...are you still there Mr Munster
This is how amateur hour we must look like to any player from the Roosters ....Penrith ....Melbourne etc
On players front doors ...No Hawkers ...No Flyers.....No WT's recruitment staff
You don't think they would be telling potential players what the plan is?
What did we tell Api and Isiaah ?? We will be on our 3rd coach by the time you arrive ......
Players know the deal, its not like we are the 1st club to sack a coach.
Yes we have the spiel down pat now ....well you would have thought so lol
