So what does Garner bring off the bench ??

No real impact off the bench .....Mikaele for Garner ....

Would be my change as well.

Garner is in to 'miraculously come down with covid' Friday night. In come rua to the bench - with joffa and peachy swapping.

If that were the case, does it mean that Rua has to be declared in our squad of 30?And when would he have to be declared by?I’ve got no idea...but I like where you’re coming from...Send him in the BabyBel to mix it with the Big Cheese!

Covid replacement players do not need to be top 30

Interesting to see Joffa gets the first crack at Lock hopefully this is a good sign for him going forward.

Peachy fitness might be the issue as to why he hadn’t been selected at lock, looks to have put on a few kg’s in the off season personally I think he makes a better utility as that impact player.

All in all it’s about the best team that we can field at this point in time.

I think also Tom Mikaele being 18th man’s says a lot about his future with the club.

Really interested to see what shape and minutes the hooker rotation will take.To beat Melbourne we can’t afford sloppy distribution and slackness in the middle.Has been our Achilles heel for a while, and still have nightmares of last year’s heartbreaker Souths match.I really hope Jake Simpkin is ready to roll, and just curious whether a little selection surprise off the bench perhaps???Or,are we playing it safe and sticking with the Peach as rotation?

Unless you are going to play Madden, I don't see anyone else selected who could come on and replace Simpkin other the Peachey. So I expect that Peachey will be spending 30-40 mins in the hooker position.

I think the one thing that scares me are our centres. Melbourne’s two are hard running bustling pair in the wet or dry. Just wondering depending on the conditions whether to play Peachy or maybe even Garner in the centres??

Garner doesn't have the lateral movement in the centres and Peachey will be needed at hooker.

Speaking of Luke Garner, interesting to note he hasn’t trialled but gets the nod in front of a couple of others. He has his detractors but must be training well so hope he can produce some of those nice lines as he will have a couple of extra ball players to run off.Was playing well when he got the injury last year.

This has got to be Garner’s year. He has some good attributes but just seems to struggle pushing through to next level.
