I think it is more important that the game tries to grow/consolidate in country areas. 1 game a year is not much to ask.
As some one who lives in a regional area, the NRL (and clubs) looking beyond the city lights to share and promote the game is much appreciated.
It is not without benefits for the clubs, Penrith has grown a strong presence through Central West NSW (Group 10/11) through playing in Bathurst.
Isiah Yeo, Dubbo, Liam Martin Temora, Charlie Staines, Forbes for example.
Panthers have locked in to play 1 game in Bathurst each season until end of 2028.
As if Penrith are not forgoing revenue not playing at Penrith.
So if it is good enough for the Premiers to take one game bush then its good enough for WT as far as I am concerned.
I have no self interest in the Tamworth game, I actually live closer to Sydney than Tamworth. I will argue for the principle of it though.
Mudgee, Dubbo and Bathurst are the closest NRL regional games for me.
The Tamworth game should not be made to feel guilty for the multiple home ground Sydney arrangement the WT have which divides the home games across multiple venues and then makes it feel like Tamworth is stealing a home game away from wherever as there are only a few games being played there.
I have no argument to make regarding the Sydney home ground situation, those that live in Sydney can tackle that beast.
@canberratiger it is if you should be getting 10 games at home and only get 9
The Magic Round is another that is taken off the Sydney hone fans
Perhaps if we drop magic round then maybe tamworth is ok, but unless every team is doing it as an nrl mandate then No to regional games
Parramatta as an example in 2023 have 11 home games

Yeah, but Parramatta sucks and no one outside that area would go to see them.
Wests Tigers however have a strong following no matter where you are.
@mike agree the big tigers following but clubs like sharks dogs Canberra cowboys etc all g8ve the season ticket holders 11 or 12 home games a year, we give 9 and we are as expensive as some of the other teams too for less games
9 is a one off.

I hope one day the Tigers are in the position where they can charge double the others for home games.
The Tigers, like every NRL club is not a charity or a social club, its a business. Prices will be set by the market. If there is demand, prices will rise. Somehow (I have no idea) we achieved record membership numbers last year. Imagine what would happen if we were successful.
@tiger5150 $50 to sit on the hill at LO why ? because fans will pay it and it is an "event" and some complain about LO nut it still draws a crowd

Talking about two different things Jedi. You initially (and so was I) talking about Memberships/Season ticket holders. Once you take the membership fee ($40) out, you are paying $30 a match for the hill which is about right.
If you want to talk about $50 to sit on the hill outside of membership. I have absolutely zero problem with them charging $80 to sit on the hill if it packs out. If the hill is half full then what ever they are charging is too much. Thats how markets work.
@tiger5150 true, was talking about membership initially, what is it now $430 for premium reserved seating for 9 home games across 3 venues
Roosters are $500 for 11 games at Allianz premium reserved seating
we need to offer better for our fans and that is maybe getting rid of Tamworth making it 10 games at least

You do realise that Roosters membership is the same price as Tigers per game?
@garry what woukd it normally be 10 with a magic round and Tamworth?
Has been 10 for the past few years.

@tiger5150 at a better stadium
Now you are opening a different can of worms.
Then they should adjust the price and keep Tamworth.
