I'm glad that there haven't been any leaks. The system works.
I'm not overly concerned about Romero/Burgess getting back in the HBG big seats. The wind of change has already blown through WT towers at Concord - looking forward to the new independent board members being appointed in the next little while.
presumably these two turkeys voted for Xmas so hard to think they change their mind given it looks like a successful decision.

You could be right but all it takes to put the fanbase at ease is a proper statement from the chair stating that the recommendations will be implemented.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
Not exactly the CV of the type of old fossil who is going to be upset about modern Wests Tigers governance:
Julie Romero is the first female director in the Club’s history. Wests has been a part of Julie’s life for as long as she can remember. She is a lifelong Wests Magpies supporter who started attending games when she was three years old.
In 1987 when Wests Magpies relocated to Campbelltown, Julie volunteered her time as a founding Secretary of the official Western Suburbs Magpies Supporters Club. The Supporters Club raised valuable funds for the football club every year.
Julie became a Debenture Holder in January 2009 and held the role of Secretary from February 2010 to December 2012. In February 2014, Julie was elected Debenture Holder Chairperson and held that role until February 2020, when she was nominated for election to the Board of Directors. Being a Director of Wests Ashfield Leagues has been an ambition of Julie’s and the driving force behind her application for a Debenture. She has previously been the Wests Ashfield nominee on the Board of the Western Suburbs Magpies, serving a 3-year term.
Aside from Wests, Julie is passionate about her family and her career and has many other varied interests. She has a 30+ year career in the insurance industry and has worked for Australia’s largest insurer, as well as one of the largest global brokerages. She has held leadership and managerial roles and worked extensively in business development, sales and marketing, corporate governance, relationship and account management. Julie has strong business acumen and skills, including experience managing organisational P&L as well as enforcing risk management and minimisation strategies.
The ethics and values held by Julie include honesty, respect, courage and open-mindedness. Julie greatly values the work Wests does in the community and has a keen interest in diversification of income streams and sound governance to protect the Club’s future and preserve its rich history and tradition.
There was an article in SMH on 27/3 basically referring to the Podcast you did that day where it says she texted SMH saying the HBG support the review.
@tigertownsfs And also one of the directors that has driven this football club into the ground .. Actions are what we are judged on not a resume , there decisions are there for all to see , and it’s not pretty !

andreachio was chairman throughout our entire downfall. Great that he accepted the review but he was the chairman. I don’t know this lady but the fact her CV includes work for large corporates and not just local real estate agents or is rusted on to one of the football clubs gives me some comfort.

Julie Romero has been deputy chair of western suburbs magpies
the new Deputy has been around a long time, and hasn't worked for big corporates....
the key will be the quality of the 4 independents the club can attract
Who cares who the deputy is. If they were important they would be the chairman
Good to see Harry T in the sheds after the game watching the team sing the team song. The bloke is worth $25b, fingers crossed the new admin can bring him back into the fold and he can pump some money into the club.
Brent Read saying the detailed strategic review is being released tomorrow to members.

Probably replace Brydens as major sponsor from 2025
Wests Tigers Podcast - Talking everything Wests Tigers!

Strategic review released. Somewhat light on detail but has some metrics on membership numbers, corporate dollars, school visits. A lot of talk about developing a stadium strategy but nothing definitive (hints towards commercial priority I think). A subtle reference to WT club identity which might refer to magpies branding.
Doesn't the new Tigers post-game song start with saying that the club is from the Western Suburbs? I'm not sure how that resonates with fans/members from Lillyfield, Leichhardt, Balmain and, no doubt, many other inner-west suburbs.
Maybe it's not just clumsy lyrics devised by Benji et al, but is a recognition that the future lies elsewhere?
Mind you, I don't think they're that smart to think as strategically as that.

it is literally the old Magpies song and the old balmain song, the old Magpies and balmain fans would remember the songs no doubt
