My view on the chairman being reappointed for another 3 years is that both the HB group & WT boards agree that Lee is not the problem.
This is a sham review. The people doing the actual review may believe that everything is above board but I think there will only be a little window dressing on the final report.
1. There’s the HBG - they ordered the review.
2. WT board made their own decision to reappoint Lee (despite the review).
3. HBG gets review report/recommendations (when completed) and potentially 2 becomes irrelevant.

Gone off a bit early there.
Firstly Lee is the incumbent Chair and the Board still requires a Chairperson. So if not Lee, someone else would be appointed and it wouldn't make sense to change the Chair whilst a review was occurring.
Secondly, was Lee actually asked to step down by the Board? The article says Tony Andrecchio wrote to him and invited him to step down. Not only is that not verified by Tony himself, but there is no evidence that Tony was acting on behalf of the Board.
I'm not a Lee enthusiast but let's all be sensible and impartial about the process. There's no footy for 6 months, they have time to do the review and figure out what they might do about recommendations.
