Weilder and Chammas discuss review at 11;50 min mark
They float the idea of Pascoe being the fall guy and potentially Simon Cook being ceo of both HBG and WT
We can’t have even more cross over. There needs to be clear points of difference between the two

That is what I would like to see.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
Jimmy Smith talks WT from 12min mark, including the board.
Encourage WT fans to vote out Tony A and Rick Wade at the WA elections in March next year
problem is most members of Wests Ashfield don’t care about the Wests Tigers.
It would be interesting to see how many turn up at the agm to vote.
May be possible to flood the day with WT supporters- as long as you've been a WA social member for the last 3 years.
Just need a decent debenture member to vote for.....
Different scale.
But in high school, a bunch of mates started leaving school early to go to the local bowling club for $1 pots.
They became such regulars, they got invited to the AGM and realised they would outnumber the old bowlers and almost voted themselves onto the board.
The only thing that stopped them was most were under-age 🤣

So the HBG is run by the 20 debenture members.
Does anyone know or know of a debenture member? Other than those on the HBG board?

I’d say most are uninterested in the board and voting. I was previously a member as I lived around the corner and I think you could post a vote in if you wanted. If you had an organised campaign your plan could work but you could easily have an alternative campaign with a difference agenda as well.
No offence to anyone, because I respect the people and the effort put into the petition and the desired goals, but I have always held low expectations that HBG will actually do anything fan-meaningful after the review is concluded.
And I don't mean that they wouldn't take the review at least half-seriously, but that there is every chance that even the review itself could recommend small or at least low-impact changes that won't appease fans.
If I'm not mistaken, most people who signed the petition are hoping for some major changes to corporate / governance structure including a few key scalps. That may have always been a long shot, even after an independent review. And of course HBG can always ignore / smother the findings of such a review anyway.
So with Lee H being extended as Chairman, it's almost certain that HBG didn't see any issue with this occurring in parallel to the independent review, otherwise they would have altered the timing of the decision / announcement. This therefore seems to indicate that the position of Lee H was never bound to the outcomes of the independent review.
Also it has to be considered / accepted that the review is very likely to recommend changes to structure / governance rather than changes to specific personnel. In other words, it's unlikely the review would suggest that Tigers eliminate the Chairperson role and just as unlikely that the review would specifically call for the head of Lee H.
The only thing I think you can say is, if Tigers would seriously consider significant personnel changes, then the reappointment of Lee H would put more pressure on the position of Pascoe, because there are few other major heads that could be rolled as part of this spring clean. However my gut tells me that the Board are actually pretty happy with Pascoe and not going to cut him loose due to external discontent.
I suppose we'll find out soon enough.
@jirskyr agree with most of this . But you really are missing the key thing in this mate .
They will need a scapegoat to enable them to go back to the shadows .
The fact Tony Andreccio and Ricky wade are names thrown in the media , would be not viewed up positively i reckon by this board .
The only way they will get anonymity , is to throw pascoe under the bus .
And like you I think as a business entity he’s overseen a business move from bleeding money to be being fairly profitable now .
But if we are talking Market leading , we are literally the opposite of that . And he’s overseen that debacle as well . Rightly or wrongly , he WILL get the blame . And most will rejoice , including myself , although I will have slight sense of trepidation about it , because sometimes it’s better the devil you know .
1. You are guaranteed to excel with a high calibre chair, high calibre board and high calibe CEO
2. You can do really well with a high calibre chair, that manages the board and a low calibre CEO. (It's likely a high calibre chair would find a better CEO as soon as possible and then excel)
3. You can do alright with a high calibre CEO that manages up to a low calibre board
4. And you are guaranteed to fail with a low calibre board and low calibre CEO
I think you could make an argument- we are currently closer to the last option at the moment.
Ideally the review would get us to the first option, but there is so many changes to make to get there it would be a miracle.
I'd be very happy if the review if the review got us to one of the middle options. But as I say, if you make strong change at board level through the review- the higher performing board would then be in a position to drive change themselves at CEO level and throughout the organisation

@frullens is it correct that you have to be a member for 3 years in order to vote at Wests Ashfield AGM? I was hoping I could sign up and vote 🙁
I enjoyed the Jimmy Smith comments, thanks for sharing. I am hopeful that Wade and Andreacchio could be voted out. I think that would be a very positive development for WT administration.
Assuming that there is an AGM next March can anyone show up to at least observe? I'm keen to see who else is eligible for a board role at Wests Ashfield and what qualifications they might have.

Chammas declares that the scapegoat of the review will be Pascoe and that Wests Ashfield CEO will take over the running of the football operation.
Not sure what to make of that suggestion - he wouldn't have thought it up himself surely?
- I am confident there is a genuine push to improve governance at WT. Whether the push is coming from those with the ability to enact change - I don’t know.
Simon Cook had said on a number of occasions that he doesn’t want to be CEO of Wests Tigers, he is too busy running Wests Ashfield (HBG). Personally I think he would make a great CEO of the Wests Tigers but I doubt he’ll do it.https://open.spotify.com/episode/4WC6jLSQGhUDLoBHQlODIv?si=jmjTy6B-QsKWjQZY1ooNxg discussion about WT governance from 11m 45sec

This is good news imo. I’d much rather someone like Cheika.
