My gut guess is that there are a couple of active board members (the chairman, Stapleton, maybe another) and a bunch of rubber stamps.
I think you’re completely right, and I think because of this Lee and Pascoe can manipulate them.
and the blur between board and executive means that Lee and Pascoe act like a combined CEO of the club. It’s why Lee can’t hold Pascoe to account as a chairman is meant to

Well done to all involved. Hope some positive change is achieved.
Why do we always get hammered by the refs . This kills my soul . I swear
This is excellent guys, well done. At least we are being given the chance to be heard, and I can’t see how something contributed won’t be acknowledged or taken on board, perhaps the out of touch business coat wearing gents will apply some effective listening. It is long overdue.
it has taken me 11 years to get my business into a fantastic position, and one of key things I did , is to to listen and implore a bottom up approach, which means listening to my employees, acknowledging there thoughts, opinions, and actively having them in driving our culture.
I am still accountable and responsible 8 days a week, 25 hrs per day.
the environment is key, it has to be somewhere u want to be at, and see a future, buy in and contribute to it. Listening , respect both ways, planning…
I could go on all day, I can’t believe these people in this club can’t see this or acknowledge it. You have to change your ways sometimes, leadership to me comes from within, it’s a together emotion.
sorry gents , trouting on here.

Mate, that is the model for effective leadership. Something our club does extremely poorly.

Yes maybe you are mate but it's all very true.
The thing is, these days it is not easy to be successful in business. You do need to perform, you need to pretty much get everything right or close to it (always room to improve, and business/sales/provider environments are dynamic).
The bottom line is our club is not run well enough. Given the lack of success and lack of change, I get the feeling that the board is too comfortable in their position, it really does seem that simple.
The problem is the board think they are run well and they are doing a good job. They have no self reflection. Is that comfort? Probably. They definitely need some new blood (lots)…The bottom line is our club is not run well enough. Denial can be a powerful thing.

CEO’S CURIOUS ABSENCE
Guess who was the only NRL club chief executive to be a no show at the NSW Rugby League and Queensland Rugby League powwow at the Blues Centre of Excellence at Sydney Olympic Park on Monday?
Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy made the 2000km round trip from Brisbane, QRL CEO Ben Ikin was the same, Warriors CEO Cameron George was on a Zoom link from Auckland, the same for North Queensland CEO Jeff Reibel from Townsville, Canberra CEO Don Furner drove the six-hour round trip from the national capital, the Melbourne CEO made the trip, you get the general idea.
Panthers boss Brian Fletcher, South Sydney CEO Blake Solly, 16 of the 17 NRL club CEO’s all made the effort to listen to Ikin and NSW Blues CEO Dave Trodden outline their pitch for why the state leagues need millions more in funding from the NRL to propagate the grassroots level of the game.
The only CEO who failed to attend was Tales from Tiger Town star Justin Pascoe. Yep, the Wests Tigers CEO sent his apologies due to a prior commitment.
Instead it was left to the Wests Tigers chief financial officer to Zoom into the meeting.
For the record it’s 8.2km from the Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence in Concord to the NSW Centre of Excellence at Sydney Olympic Park.
Is it any wonder the Wests Tigers are in the queue to collect back-to-back wooden spoons?
I want to know why Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy wasted time and money flying down from Brisbane when the Warriors CEO wisely chose the low-cost Zoom option for attendance.

I think because it’s his job?
@avocadoontoast a bit harsh on Pascoe. He sent an appropriate employee in his place. I have to do this all the time and support my Colleagues when they have prior commitments. Surely Hooper can see how petty he sounds
He was the only one who didn’t attend. Not really a good look. All the other CEO’s made time. He’s hopeless and has zero self awareness.@avocadoontoast a bit harsh on Pascoe.
