Ok lets pretend not suggesting the obvious for fear of rejection, but doing a Mother Therese wont work either.

I personally don't believe an Independent Review is worth the paper its written on. Lets not look at Gus Goulds Review of St George which was ignored. Lets definitely not revisit Brian Smiths Review of the Wests Tigers. How about Gardiner's review of Newcastle before he took over and what happened?

So who does the Review?

  1. PWC, Ernst & Young, McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company or Boston Consulting Group.
  2. How about Three Unemployed Coaches such as Toovey, Taylor or McGregor ? No?
  3. Wayne Pearce? No he's Balmain.
  4. I know, the bloke from the AFL who's just resigned.
  5. Somebody.

Any Board with any clue how these things work, will only agree to a Review if it already knows what the Report is going to recommend. In a two horse race always bet on self interest.

We’ll just have to wait and see what the attitude to the petition is first.

WE were surprised to hear Wests Tigers club legend Chris Lawrence has walked away from the Concord outfit.

Lawrence is one of the best ambassadors the Tigers could ever dream of having who played 253 games for the club after coming through as a teenage superstar out of the local junior system in Campbelltown.

A club captain at one point in his career, Lawrence loved the Wests Tigers so much he even returned to playing after suffering facial fractures that were likened to a car crash.

Despite metal plates and facial reconstructive surgery, Lawrence put the team and the club first and returned to the playing field.

Unfortunately – for now at least – Lawrence is no longer part of the club after a dummy spit from chairman Lee Hagipantelis.

When the Wests Tigers were being flogged 74-0 by North Queensland a few weeks back, Lawrence sent Hagipantelis a text message along the lines of “you can’t be happy with this?”.

The Wests Tigers chairman took umbrage to the text and Lawrence has since walked away from the club.

In a nutshell, it says a lot about why the Tigers are where they are.

How can you treat a club icon and thoroughly decent bloke like that?

@helmesy just a note for the Chairman... us fans would much prefer to have Chris Lawrence in any role within the club than you anywhere near us!

Mr Helmesy, your petition of some 1700 people is impressive and far more than I thought you would get. So full marks to you. But since you have such a tool, please use it well, thats all i'm saying. You will only get one crack at this, much like when Luke Skywalker meets his Dad.........

Chris Lawrence has walked away from the club after Hagipantelis had a dummy spit over a text sent by Lawrence following the flogging by the Cowboys which simply said “You can’t be happy with this?”.

Clearly the Chairman is part of the problem, not the part of the solution.

Wests Tigers DNA my arse.

Is that story legit?

I thought Lawrence was involved in a consultancy role (via his ONE business) if anything.

There has been talk within the game about Wests Tigers assistant Robbie Farah potentially moving out of the coaching staff and into a role in administration.

Farah has previously indicated to the club that he sees his future as a general manager. His ambition hasn’t changed but the club is yet to decide on the structure of its football department.

There is a vacancy at Concord, with Tim Sheens stepping away from his GM duties to focus on coaching, and it remains unclear what role, if any, Sheens will have with the Tigers once his two-year tenure comes to an end.

This masthead contacted Farah on Sunday to see if he intended to move away from coaching as early as 2024.

The club legend admitted the administration side of the business appealed to him, but he planned to remain Benji Marshall’s offsider again next year.

Robbie Farah has been an assistant coach this year. GETTY
If an administration role was to become available, expect Farah to be front and centre of discussions. A move upstairs could open the door for the Tigers to bring in another assistant coach.

Several player agents have told the club that their clients are concerned with the standard of coaching and the attention to detail, especially defensively, on offer at the Tigers at the moment. The Tigers intend to address those issues.

IMO Lee is an embarrassment and doesnt help the public perception of the club but isnt a bigger problem than the rest of the board. IMO a good/strong CEo would keep Lee in check and Lee wouldnt be as prominent. I think it has been telling over the last few weeks how prominent Lee has been and how quiet Pascoe has been during a time of crisis. IMO Pascoes cards are marked.

I'm all for a Sponsor getting their brand name out there, they pump their hard earned money into Sponsorship, but this is why our Major Sponsor shouldn't be our Chairman.

"Any publicity is good publicity" isn't conducive to managing or overseeing a successful NRL side.
