On his Bryden's segment on SEN this morning, Lee mentioned that he was unanimously backed as Chair as a vote of confidence at the board meeting last night.

That's great, so relieved he'll be allowed to continue his mission of burning this club to the ground.

@tiger5150 this is 100% right. The way Lee answered the question about how we get out of this last night showed they have no plan. He threw out some one liners and looked and sounded lost. He should have had 4 or 5 key points to fall on right there to answer the question. Points taken straight from the strategic plan they have at the club.

I've met Chris Warren the Media Manager twice and he's a passionate fan, which helps. Just with our Media team, at the moment, with the toxic state of our Club, nearly everything they publish is being read by a Supporter who is angry at a loss or disillusioned with the Club.

I don't know any of them personally, but I actually feel sorry for them, they've got a tough gig pleasing thousands of seriously pissed off people.

As Chairman, is he entitled to vote on matters or does he just oversee the Board and follow their directions.

It's obvious we are in dire straits but I'm unsure if the blame should fall at

A)The Board

B) Pascoe

C) Lee

D) all of the above

I should probably ask, who is most to blame?

Anyone watch NRL360? What did the berk say? I couldn’t bring myself to watch it.

He was destroyed by Brent Read.

Well except for the bit about Luke Brooks. Brent was trying to make a case that Tigers rushed or stonewalled Luke Brooks, as if Brooks has not been enjoying himself at the Wests Tigers trough for a decade. Luke Brooks caused the exit of Luke Brooks, I won't point fingers at the Tigers for that one, he got more support and chances than most players are afforded.

Except the part where he denied that Brooks was given a 3 day deadline and then went on to try and justify it.

I'm not interested in the minutia of the exchanges between the club and player. I do believe Lee H that the club felt they were making an offer to Brooks that could have been acceptable and that Brooks declined it. I'm not fussed if that was a short or long deadline.

Surely the club and player have been together long enough that terms could be easy to understand and present, and Luke Brooks shouldn't even need 3 days to make a decision - these negotiations would have been telegraphed from some distance out. That's his manager's job, to lay the groundwork such that when an offer is made, a decision can arrive rapidly. Or a request for an extension, if something changes. It's not as if Brooks would be caught off-guard by his 4th or 5th contract offer from Tigers in a decade - it's a well-worn path by now.

But Brooks allegedly knocked back 2 offers, and then fairly rapidly took up a 4-year deal at Manly. So clearly something else was in the works and this is, again, a very typical play from his manager, to make threats and complain about the club's position when they have been angling to exit the club since 2022.

Luke Brooks has had his chances in spades, I don't care what deadlines may have been imposed.

the issue with Brooks was from what i got told the offer was X and then it was changed to Y and the deadline of Sunday put on it. It was a downgrade on the original offer.

He then had the Edgar's and they went to Manly

@jirskyr agree with you on this . That all smells like hot garbage to me . If he wanted to stay he would . If he didn’t like the offer he would have rejected it and said Manly have offered Y to your X . But he didn’t , because he didn’t want to stay .
Fair enough . And I agree with others that the deadline was probably a way to bring it all to a head because ,you know, Isaac Moses gonna Isaac Moses .

The fact anyone would have to state this is ridiculous in itself

It would be an almost impossible job at the moment. There’s no positive news to put out there and the game day stuff you can only try and spin for so long

9 Months ago they had one and IMO it was starting to show promise.......then they killed it.

“We had a board meeting on (Monday) night and one of our directors passed a motion of confidence in me that was unanimously passed.

“That was humbling and I was overwhelmed by that.

“Internally, we know we have made a lot of positive changes (and) there is the core of a very good team there.

“We are not far away.”

the board have all held hands and jumped off the cliff together. Every major decision (sheens, Maguire, Benji, Fulton, brooks) has been signed off by the board. They are not a board of oversight they are amateurs playing fantasy football. Of course they are going to vote confidence in themselves. This is the governance rot that is the centre of our issues.

I’ll start out by saying I’m glad that Brooks is moving on. A fresh start for both Brooks and the club….

BUT

These quote taken directly from Hagipantelis on NRL360 (yes I finally built up the stomach to watch it) is why he should resign as Chairman, he just doesn’t get it.

Surprised at the rejection by Brooks:

So the rejection of the offer and the decision to leave, took us all somewhat by surprise

Why the deadline was given:

So we just assumed that, that was the way in which the negotiations were to progress

These are damming admissions by a so called leader of the club.

he didn't have a chance to reject it he was told on the Thursday this is the offer take or leave and the contention was it was less than the offer previously discussed. Got told Sheens was livid about the dollar value.

Would you stay if your employer made you an offer then a week later made a decreased offer ?

Good luck to him (not too much luck as it is manly) he has left to join a pretty strong team on a good deal.

Where does this live wests tigers, we are battling to sign Sezer....as a replacement God help us

@jedi-tiger the club has said the 2nd offer was an increased offer. Where are you getting it was a decreased offer from?
