Justin Pascoe holds talks with Benji Marshall, Scott Fulton

Justin Pascoe has held separate talks with warring Wests Tigers officials Benji Marshall and Scott Fulton after opting against a planned crisis meeting.

There's an emergency meeting on Monday. No, wait, it's a crisis meeting! Actually, no, they have opted against a crisis meeting... downgraded to a regular meeting. Separate though, separate parties attending... I guess they are WARRING FACTIONS if they cannot be in the same room together! Warring factions that hate each other so badly that they had to cancel the crisis meeting, for fear of creating an even bigger crisis! Can't even stand to be in the same room as one another, breathing the same air.

Can we say "warring" again? How about "feuding"?

Did you hear they agreed to lay down their guns? What were they even carrying guns for anyway? I'll tell you why, because it's WAR!

@jirskyr it’s news because it’s unprofessional conduct and it’s talked about because it’s an example of why the place is amateurish and can’t move from the bottom of the ladder.

You can ignore the problems all you want and talk about cycles in teams going up and down. However evidence is there that the board and leaders of this club are hurting this club. It’s your choice to read and believe what you want but people can also react to things how they see them.

Of course they can react - I just think some episodes are over-reactions. Dissecting whether or not Lee H made a snide comment about Alan Jones, for example, is IMO an over-reaction. The comment was "Alan Jones 2 Lee H 0"; how boring, tallying up the back and forward between two blow-hards. I don't really care about what either Alan Jones or Lee H said, and it's an exchange easily ignored, but people refuse to do it.

I think there is harm in continually jumping on the club at any opportunity. This is how some people react in a crisis and I do not think it is constructive.

And I am differentiating between the general consensus, in this case, that Lee H has a weak public image (I don't think that is in doubt) with continual commentary about how weak he is. You can calmly say "it's time for Lee to step down" without harping on about how much you dislike him, every opportunity. About his hat and his suits etc. I'm kind of sick of hearing about it.

Even the Petition that is going around, it is asking for a methodical external review of club operations and management; a very reasonable, pragmatic, realistic request. Nothing hysterical or unreasonable about it. BUT if you read the Petition threads (here and the other forum) in places they have become a hotbed of ongoing discontent and argument. People flocking to these threads to shriek at the latest indiscretion or negative rumour.

So it's not about ignoring problems, it's about recognising that harping on about identified problems does not bring them to a resolution. There is a mechanism in progress of fans attempting to pressure a change in the management, and it's probably the only realistic mechanism that fans and members have. But it's a slow process, and I don't think we get anywhere agitating, day-to-day, about how discontent we are, or about how much of a buffoon Lee is. It loses sight of the bigger picture.

And the worst part is it's all speculative. I preferred the days where we mostly spoke about football, even when we weren't winning. But the forums these days are more often about speculation and off-field; theories about front-office egos, the power of player managers, cronyism and favouritism. It's got a life of its own, entirely separate from the actual footy, and almost entirely made up.

It's not up to you to determine what is newsworthy and what isn't. If people want to voice their grievances or opinions, that really isn't your concern.

@jirskyr yea all that would wash if it was 2015 … 2017 …. 2018 ….. 2020….. 2022!
the problem is this has been going on for a long time , and most are sick of blaming the coach . Or even the GM / head of  performance .
We gave both those 2 more than enough rope and they have hung themselves 10 times over .
Just because you choose to be apathetic , which is what it is , it’s not stoicism . Which is what you may think about yourself .
Everyone can now see the common denominator ie. Pascoe and the board/ Lee.
And they want change. To be honest it’s galvanised the whole fan base  outside of yourself .
And I would hazard to guess it has provided many people , who were talking about basically giving up on the whole club with hope for change .

So before you gloat and patronise others with your condescending , holier than thou diatribe , that maybe you should think to yourself that the winds of change are finally blowing . And hopefully we as a fan base can get some result any result .
because the “it’s all cycles” is just bullshit . And factually not true .

It’s only true for something like 4 clubs . And the tigers aren’t one of them .
And you accused me of being a sensationalist the other day . And all I could do was scoff . Because it wasn’t that long ago , I was being hammered by guys like avo and Gallagher . For daring to imply Pascoe was competent at his job.
So no , I’m not a sensationalist . I back myself and my opinions . But they are always open to being swayed by the latest price of information, and I’m not married to them . And neither should you

He jumped in and played the role of halfback at times during the session as he played a hands-on role in preparing the side for the Dragons game.

That quote above about benji annoyed me the most in that previous article. Why is he practicing at halfback. That may be why our attack looks so clunky.

Really worrying he is doing thst.

For Le Frog:

The Scorpion and the Frog

One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.

The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn't see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.

Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.

"Hellooo Mr. Frog!" called the scorpion across the water, "Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?"

"Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?" asked the frog hesitantly.

"Because," the scorpion replied, "If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!"

Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. "What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!"

"This is true," agreed the scorpion, "But then I wouldn't be able to get to the other side of the river!"

"Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?" said the frog.

"Ahh...," crooned the scorpion, "Because you see, once you've taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!"

So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog's back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog's soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.

Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog's back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.

"You fool!" croaked the frog, "Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?"

The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog's back.

"I could not help myself. It is my nature."

Then they both sank into the muddy waters of the swiftly flowing river.

He’s not. He runs the opposition plays against the NRL squad to give them practise on what to expect. He would have performed the role of opposing halfback against Wakeham.

You maybe right but that is not what the article says. He jumped into the role of halfback at times. That means for the tigers. As it was only at times...

While I didn’t see this particular training run what I said is one of Benji’s roles at training. Benji runs the opposition plays against the NRL squad. I wouldn’t put too much credence in what the article says.

maybe it was opposing half against Api. Sheens did allude to this in the presser.

Possibly because the fans think there IS a big deal and club management seem to be business as usual?

It's absolutely a big deal. You'd have to be in denial to think otherwise.
