I just phoned the club & asked if there will be any official announcement made soon. They sound just as unsure as us 😆
Such a wonderful organisation we support!
we are an absolute joke of a club
Garry Glitter and wests crew shame on you all
This is a real problem for the NRL, now that the grant system ensures fiscal viability there is absolutely no way they can remove a diabolical owner unless they appoint and administrator to the Tigers. HBG as owner has sacked 2 sets of executives and 2 board and has have 2 complete turnovers of their own board including legal fights with said directors. They are absolutely ungovernable goons and apparently that doesn’t matter and it’s impossible to remove them even though 99% of the actual football fans of the club want them gone. This was the biggest open goal for the NRL to fix this tragic mess to save the franchise and if this is too much for the NRL then there will never be any remedy other than financial to remove a license. I guess that’s in the interest of all the other league stakeholders ie their positions will now forever be safe but unfortunately it means the poor tigers are left to be the perennial laughing stock cellar dwellers. We are absolutely cooked now.
My complaint to the NRL. If you have not already please submit yours

Hi PVL and team
I implore you to do something proactive to resolve the ongoing situation at Wests Tigers
I have spent some time trying to find a copy of the NRL participation agreement that each club commits to as a participant in the competition
It's clear to me as a 25 year supporter of Wests Tigers, that ineptitude at board level has the potential to undermine the competition on an ongoing basis. Further, the NRL's brand and rugby league's identity as a sport is threatened for these reasons
- you are about to negotiate a new TV rights deal;
- to secure the best deal for the game and its clubs you need competition
The WT cannot and will not be able to compete with such incompetent people in control of the club. There is already strong evidence to suggest that removing Shane Richardson and independent board members will bring significant harm to the club and its fortunes in the short, medium and long term.
The Holman Barnes Group and its directors are not qualified to administer a professional sporting franchise. They have proven this time and again for at least the past decade. In the past 12 months alone we have seen at least 4 HBG directors dismissed amidst internal conflict that brings negative headlines to both the club and the image of the NRL. The individuals who form part of the HBG do not act for the best interests of the WT, its fans or the sport of Rugby League. They are motivated by self interest only and the by-product of this is an ineffective and inefficient governance structure which has plagued the club since HBG assumed control of the WT club.
The only solution to this is NRL intervention. I call on you to act for the benefit of the club and its long suffering supporters. Failing to do so will see fans like myself walk away from the club and most likely the game.
Can't Anthony Field just step in & buy the club? He's got Wiggles money, surely?
Someone needs to do a mental health check-in on me! I've got the Tigers in turmoil, Liverpool FC in turmoil, & the bloody England Cricket team! 😫
Can't Anthony Field just step in & buy the club? He's got Wiggles money, surely?
there would be 100 people lining up to buy the club, the problem is that it’s lot for sale. HBG board members can’t get any benefit from the $50m the sale would generate - and they will lose their privileges for nrl games. It has to be removed forcefully. The protest should be at nrl hq not HBG hq

he is not a wests tigers man... therefore to some his money would not be any good ...
Anyone but HBG
The Wests Tigers can confirm that Chief Executive Officer, Shane Richardson has today advised the Club of his resignation.
The veteran administrator said he was proud of what had been achieved throughout his time at the Club.
“It’s been a privilege to be part of the Wests Tigers and see what we’ve been able to achieve as a Club,” Richardson said.
With the support of his Executive Team, Richardson oversaw commercial growth across the Club.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Benji Marshall, the players, staff, sponsors and fans for their support over the last two years.
“We’ve got a fantastic group of staff who work tremendously hard – from administration through to football – and their efforts in turning this Club around need to be recognised, without them the Club would not be in the position it is today."
Holman Barnes Group (HBG) has accepted the resignation of Richardson.
HBG Chief Executive Officer Daniel Paton said:
“We thank Shane for his service," Paton said.
“His resignation paves the way for a new path forward for the football club, and we will be making an announcement about the new leadership in the near future.
“We again wish to reassure our fans and the broader NRL of our commitment to the joint venture.
“We intend for everyone to move forward together as one, and will be driving this reality through a new CEO and leadership," Paton concluded.
MSM article says Shaun Mielekamp is reportedly set to replace Richardson in the interim and is one of the candidates to take over permanently.
Bugger. I expect Benji to go as well if that’s the case.Richo has resigned effective immediately apparently
Yep well unfortunately I’m done while HBG are owners.
my email to the club below:
Hi Wests Tigers,
we need to organise something during every tigers home game from fans whether that be we all turn out back to the game at a certain time, at the 26 minute mark for 26 years of wests tigers or something ?
