Steve do you think Simon Cook is cool with this info being in the press so quickly?

I’m not Steve but Simon Cook is a pretty reasonable guy. Doubt he would have a problem. He actually recognises the need for change and a revamp.

@jirskyr it’s a balance hey. Brent Read asked me how things were progressing, next thing there was an article lol. We need exposure so I’m ok with it. When we meet with Simon we will respect his wishes regarding communication etc as long as he is reasonable which I’m sure he will be

I have to admit I feel a bit torn with the Brent Read involvement. Obviously great in getting exposure for the petition and therefore bigger numbers and increased influence for change. But for years now Read has been actively sniping at Tigers and looking for any excuse to write negative articles about us. Clearly has an agenda against us and whilst I understand and agree with the positives, I feel uncomfortable feeding him.

@tiger5150 you’re not on your own there mate but being totally transparent, I sent messages etc to a stack of journos and he was the one who responded. We definitely need an avenue to broadcast far and wide what we are trying to achieve.

Yeah journos pick on us, but that’s because we are an easy target due to our performance on and off the field for a long period of time. We have changed players, coaches, facilities and we are about to be back to back spooners. I’m glad the focus is on admin as that is the common thread through the entire debacle. I’m very comfortable with using the journos to push our agenda. If we were a winning club on and off the field there would be nothing but positive articles from the same journos

So true! We keep giving them negatives to cover - that’s their job.

Absolute zinger from Lee

SPOTTED

Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis has returned fire on broadcaster Alan Jones in a speech at the launch of the club’s NRLW team. He opened his speech by saying: “I have an apology from Alan Jones not being able to make it as he is stuck in 1982 when he was last relevant.” The comment was warmly received by those at the function.

Seriously. Wasn’t he saying on radio the other day he wasn’t fazed and that he left because he had other things to do. Just move on and be professional

Hey Lee rather than trying to be a comedian how about you get Sheens benji and Fulton all on the same page and sign some decent players ....

@tigertownsfs On behalf of all Baboons we take exception to the comparison. You will be hearing from our Lawyers, Brydens.

I want to go to the parallel universe where:

we never sign Adam Blair in 2012

we keep Andrew fafita

sheens is never sacked at the end of 2012

Benji and Robbie stay one club players

teddy, brooks and Moses stay

payten becomes assistant and then NRL coach

sheens retires in glory in 2018

Payten wins the 2019 and 2020 premierships

teddy signs with st Helen’s for 2024 to make way for jahreem Bula
