@tiger5150 this is a classic example of the ingrained issues within the club. 99% of the fans have moved on, and recognise the club for what it is, but the complete imbeciles at board level continue to use the club as a vessel for political power and gain. I’ve said it for years, without much support, but Wests Tigers best chance of success is to be sold to a private party. This current issue only solidifies my beliefs.

It seems ridiculous and for years I have assumed it was rubbish that there was a "Magpies" faction yearning for the "good old days" (spoiler: there werent any).
I now believe it. it would be very easy for Burgess/Romero to put this to bed but they don't. IMO the only explanation for the depths of incompetence that this club and the people guiding it have reached is this level of stupidity at the top and it seems it is now being dragged out into the sunlight.
I know the independent director process is complete and recommendations have been made. Just get on with it and make it happen. My biggest hope is that what we are seeing is the death throes of a decrepit regime.

I for one would tear up my membership and walk away from the club if they dumped the wests tigers. I'm ex balmain tigers however now 100% Wests Tigers. If it's western suburbs magpies I'm done. Not because of the name change but because of the imbeciles in charge that would do something so petty.

Expose the foul play that has been undermining the good and let public opinion push for eradication, it’s the only chance we have!
Just over half of the fans are originally from Tigers related families. Kill the Tiger, you kill the Club. I too have met these people who by some quirk of fate have become Directors of the entity controlling this club. To say I was unimpressed ,is a major understatement.

I think the potential return of the Bears has aggravated the situation where some of the fossils have had dreams of returning to the glory days of the magpies. PVL should put a stop to the grand ideas of these pin heads and just tell them he won’t renew their license. The NRL can then just run the Wests Tigers (like they are going to run the Perth bears) before returning the club to its members once the financial side is settled. It would take a very short time in my view because the depth of support for the WT is enormous and lots of serious people will want to help. It would basically have no impact on the WT club other than these idiots from HBG will no longer get invited to the owners box
Romero and Burgess have nowhere to hide now. They should both ride on into the sunset asap.

@king_avo_the_great This is no surprise to me I come from the Magpie side of things and supported the Magpies for 6 decades and can assure all that what has been written does not surprise me at all …I know older Magpie supporters that have connections with the club that totally think this way it’s the Magpies or the highway. I do think it’s only a few these days but the enemy of the Weststigers is closer than you think I will leave it at that . My personal opinion is the West Magpies have flown the coup if this gathers any momentum from the few that are still living in the past I see the Franchise taken away and given straight to someone like Perth or a NZ franchise PVL will not tolerate this behaviour as he lives in the now and not a yesterdays hero… It’s childish behaviour when someone owns something that others where apart of and relishes rubbing there noses in what they may have lost … I feel embarrassed after supporting the Magpies for the better part of my life to witness some with power exerting this type of treachery!

@garry surely that can’t be overridden by these 2 clowns. The independent Directors would be appointed on recommendation by the Chair or he would have the final casting vote?
Looking by the statement you’ve just posted from HBG they’ve been forced into a backtrack for the time being which should get time to finalise the board with the independent Directors. 🤞
So Julie finally got flushed out! I hope these two remain under media scrutiny and maybe just maybe the other debenture holders will remove them to avoid further embarrassment.
