Is this the turning point or overreaction to a good win?

I just can’t get over how good our attack looked.

how is it that all of a sudden the clunk disappeared and everything was at speed. We just could not do that before.

Even Seyfarth link man passes were good.

Pole is also really becoming super consistent as well.
I’ll tell you two things will prove a corner has at least been semi navigated.

1) we beat the Roosters, we’ve only won like 1 out of last 17 or something.

2) Stefano signs this week. If Richo and Benji can pull that off, then our off field performance will gain even more momentum, which will underpin better long term on field.

in fact after writing this, My second point is really the only one that matters.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Stefano, looks like the dogs have signed Toupinua from the roosters so they may be out of the game in terms of $$ I'm pretty sure Panthers would not have taken Ice off us at full freight if they were not planning to play him as a middle to cover the loss of JFH and to be honest his lateral defense has really been a problem for him so either way he is destined for the middle in my opinion, that leaves Roosters and the raiders as potential destinations.....Raiders may be less appealing after we toweled them up on Sunday so Roosters for me are the challenge, however I think they have some major issues of their own in terms of cattle next season and we may see them towards the bottom of the ladder as they rebuild in the next couple of years. So if I were Stef or advising him I would tell him to see out his contract, or get a bit more next year in exchange for a 1 year extension, I would cop that if I were Richo as the club will hopefully be a more appealing place in 26 and if its not than I will probably leave with Stefano as well. The reality is the top teams over the last few years are coming back to the field so I expect we will see some changes in who the "winning" teams are over the next 5 years. The whole Penrith situation airing their dirty laundry with Taylan May, the move of stalwarts in JFH & Luai as well as the recruiting of Ice and Kepoa smells a bit of desperation and a loss of control, having Nathan out with serious injuries for fair chunks of the season does not help either.

some good motivation for Benji. The roosters have clowned us over the past decade. Expectations are low, some experienced cattle available for selection after watching the kids lift us out of our losing streak. Dare to dream?

This is NOT a turning point guys… just remember how many linebreaks that we’ve had against us. Yes we did scramble but the chooks and the cheetahs will punish us. I’d like us to defend better to prevent too many line breaks. When combinations come together across the park, look out! That’s going to take 6-12 imo

The Roosters can put plenty of points on, no doubts about that. So defence will be tested more. I think best way to negate that to some extent, other than great defence of course, is to play in their half as much as possible. A good kicking game & kick chase with high completions & you won’t have to defend as much. Thought they did that pretty well past 2 games.

I think everything we’ve done in the past 2 weeks has to be bettered to compete against the possible grand finalists.
To me a win against the cooks will make my season… 1 They are likes hens teeth😜 and  2 ‘three in a row’ hasnt  been done in a decade I’d reckon.

2262 days to be precise 😬 Monday 16th April 2018

a lot of people saying bring Staines back for Luke Laulilii. To end our sets where we want to we need to start them well. For me, Lualilii is the better option for this reason alone

@tigersteve 100%. He’s the first winger picked this week imo.

A turning point initially is when the long losing streaks end.

If we can get to even just a 25% win rate consistently (so winning 1 from 4) for the rest of the year then we have something to build on.

Last time we won two in a row we then lost 9 straight.

50% winning rate for the rest of the year is a big ask but would be fantastic. We have 9 more games and a bye so even just winning 4 of the 9 would be great for confidence etc.

No idea how many we’ll win Joel but certainly more confident of giving cheek against these top 4 teams than I was a few weeks ago. Let’s just give it a crack and see.

I’m scared what those 2 Roosters 7 foot wingers are going to do to 5 foot something wingers.

True, but a week ago I was worried about Raiders forward pack steamrolling us up the middle.

Got to find a way to overcome the deficiency on the day.

Yes, that’s a concern but there are others as well, Sam Walker’s short kicking at goal line defences, Joey Manu breaking tackles & Keary jumping offside to stifle attacks. But we can throw a bit at them too now so let’s see how it goes.

After the Panthers game at Bathurst I said to a group of us on the Helmes Express return journey the Tigers will win the premiership in 2026. Now, obviously this was somewhat in jest but at that time, and now, I had a belief we were getting better & I’ve seen a lot of the young guys coming through & know how good they could turn out to be. I was asked my GF team after my comment & I did have Jahream, Luke, Lachie, Sam, Justin Matamua, Heamasi Makasini, Jordy Miller & Latu somewhere in that team. I might’ve also mentioned Heath & Kit but I can’t remember all. It was all a bit of fun & intended mainly to lift spirits after the loss to the Panthers but I do have a belief the club is in the verge of something pretty special. A few things have to be done with the Roster & I think, like most fans, we have the best people in charge now to oversee that. And what I’ve heard since from others working in the club just gives me more confidence in what I believe will happen. Is there a turning point? I guess others can answer that better than me but the only question I can answer is will the Tigers win the Premiership in 2026? Of course they will.
