The fact we are ending the 10 year agreement will this weekend and the club has not announced what it’s stadium strategy will be next year is a disgrace.
There are complications, for next year, that many clubs are dealing with at the moment.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
Haven’t been back since last round 2019,
I’ve moved on
It’s a council owned ground it’s the responsibility of the council to have the ground up to stranded ! Do not listen to Byrne he wanted half the funding to be used for a swimming pool the council like Leichhardt oval has been run into total disrepair .Leichhardt oval is not fit for purpose to hoist any elite sporting events it is actually an insult to its supporters the Weststigers continue using the ground . It’s time as a club that one of the three stadiums that the tax payers of NSW have spent billions building be used as our home ground .This situation would not even be an issue if our club had some leadership moving forward in selecting a home ground it is now becoming a farce that the club actually has 6 home grounds how on earth can this club be taken seriously .The club is now bottom of the heap it’s decisions of the past decade that has driven the club to the failure it is today ,this situation is not a hard choice the actual largest crowd averages are at the larger stadiums .The powers to be at this club have to crawl out from under the rock that there been under for over a decade and move into the modern era of giving its supporter base a modern home ground with facilities to match …not continue using grounds that are out dated and lock out the supporter base !
The bottom line is if the council cannot afford the upkeep & upgrades needed they will sell to developers.

If they havent planned for it, yes that would be a disgrace. The fact that they havent announced is not a disgrace. There is no need to yet (membership sales not near a deadline) and there very well may be other factors at play, for instance they might be waiting to see if money gets tipped in. No point bleating for money and then announcing we are not playing there anyway......conversely if we announce LO/CSS split and govt says no money, we look stupid. Good politics not to announce.

This really is the bottom line.
Its all well and good to say, its a Council ground (Sharks are the only club that own their ground) so why should NSW Govt chip in, but its a public and community facility that services and benefits more people than just the Inner West.
I was involved in the resurfacing of LO maybe 10-12 years ago and the money spent on that was incredible and I was surprised they spent it but it was pointed out to me how often LO is used. It is used a LOT by all different grades of League, soccer and RU. It is a well used facility by people all over Sydney.
If people want the use of the facility and if it is a valuable asset to the people of Sydney/NSW then money needs to be found, otherwise the reality is that if Inner West Council are forced into a cost/benefit analysis, the revenue return will be less than the outgoings and at some stage someone will tip a truckload in and it will be a great spot for waterview units.
If NSW/Sydney can do without this asset then QED. This is effectively nothing to do with the Tigers. Its a well used facility that need money to remain viable. Make the decision. Do we need/want it? If so tip in the $$$, if not then leave it to Council.
If it is retained, it makes sense for us to use it but IMO the overall decision re $$$ is separate to the Tigers.

Agree. Nothing at all todo with Wests Tigers. If the people of the area want it and the people of NSW want it, then it needs to be funded. Otherwise the council will have no choice as it will become a financial and litigious liability.

The biggest issue atm is the women's soccer world cup has caused some complications and has made things difficult across the NRL. That has delayed our announcement.

@garry so was the club looking at Accor but can't due to women's soccer WC ?

My understanding is it is one of the grounds unavailable.

POLITIS: RABBITOHS NOT WELCOME AT OUR HOME
- Phil Rothfield
Billionaire Roosters boss Nick Politis has a blunt message for arch-rivals the outh Sydney Rabbitohs in their move to play at Allianz Stadium next year: It’s our home, not yours.
As the two clubs prepare for Friday night’s Moore Park blockbuster and opening of the new $850 million stadium, Politis has spoken on the Roosters’ latest podcast of his club having exclusive access to the new venue.
His team trained on the new turf on Tuesday and will have a captain’s run on Thursday while Souths have been banned from using the venue before the game.
The Rabbitohs want to quit Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park to share the state-of-the-art facility with the Roosters from next season.
Politis did not actually use South Sydney’s name but it was obvious who he was talking about.

“I’ve heard other people say they want to play there because it’s their home,” Politis said.
“The point is we’ve been there since 1928. We started with the old sports ground and then 30 years with the old Allianz Stadium.
“Nobody else has played there. For another club to say we want to go there because it’s our home, it’s not their home. The Roosters are the only people that belong there. It’s our true home and it’s very sacred.”
In signing a 25-year agreement to play at the stadium with the state government, Politis even insisted that a sign be placed at the northern end of the stadium – ‘Home of the Sydney Roosters.’
The club’s football offices and high-performance centre are also set up inside the stadium.
“It’s a wonderful facility,” Politis said “It says on the outside – home of the Sydney Roosters – and we’re very proud of that.”
The Rabbitohs have approached both Venues NSW and the State Government, trying to break their contract at Accor Stadium because of the government’s backflip refurbishing the venue.
CEO Blake Solly explained his position to The Daily Telegraph last week.
“We signed a long-term deal back in 2016 with Accor Stadium management at the time based on a significant redevelopment of Accor, which at that time, was a knockdown rebuild,” Solly said.
“Now the Government has confirmed Accor Stadium won’t be redeveloped, it’s our view that we should be able to move to Allianz Stadium, where the Government has invested $800m.
“We’re just asking for a fair and reasonable outcome for our members and fans.”

Politis can moan all he likes. Fortunately the State Gov owns the Stadium. The Roosters deal is non-exclusive so stiff if other NRL teams get to play there.
PS it’s operated by the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust.
