I see the attendance at Campbelltown certainly would pave the way to being there full time as this area certainly wants to support the Tigers …well the Chairman does anyway , go there and perish!
Very poor performance today at one of our fortresses in front of a crowd of @9k. We can’t seem to a draw a crowd at Cambo even with the hype of the last two weeks. I would have expected around 14 to 15k today, nice weather, Sunday afternoon etc etc.

It was almost predictable - we don't seem to be able to get up for lowly rated teams and our CSS record is atrocious. As you point out, the crowd was poor given our recent performances but with several players out maybe fans could see the writing on the wall.
If Campbelltown is our future we'll perish - we don't have the support.
if we are playing more than 50 % of games at CSS next year we are doomed as a club
Club is in a real pickle. Zero chance there will a new stadium built at Liverpool, very unlikely we get any upgrades at LO and CSS. Attendance and performance at CSS has been terrible of late and it’s meant to be where our future lies. We are about to go from the club with the most home grounds to the club with the worst home grounds in the competition and there is no realistic chance of any improvement on the horizon.

Wouldnt be surprised that the recent incident at LO prompts some sort of action and upgrade.
All the discussion in the forum has an obviously WT bias however what is often not considered is that the ground is regularly used by other tenants and is a valuable asset for sport in SYdney.
The bind we are in is that Wests Campbelltown won’t fund the juniors to the levels we need if we don’t play at Campbelltown.
Wests Tigers Podcast - Talking everything Wests Tigers!
@mike Councils can’t fill pot holes … why does our club persist in dealing with these people these old out of date grounds will never have the money spent on them for a club to maximise profits and expand its supporter base … at present the Chairman is determined to flush the club down the rabbit hole by pushing for these grounds .Accor or Alliance are the future not the relics of the past !
💯. Totally unrealistic to think the suburban grounds will ever be up to scratch. Happy to play at modern stadiums, even if we share with another 1 or 2 other teams.

IMO if we cant negotiate a very advantageous deal with Stadia NSW then IMO commit to 1-2 years at LO CSS 50:50 and let the punters vote with their feet.

How much $ needed replace this funding? Maybe sell a few more corporate boxes at the SFS and that will cover it

Total community payments for Wests was $1,839,261. That is their entire spend across all community sports.
@helmesy I think wests ashfield can cover the cost of junior funding for campbletown area they probably do already for balmain junior funding.
The home ground situation is too important to get this wrong. We simply can't play the bulk of our games at campbletown the punters just don't go.
We had 15k at LO for a rainy 6pm Friday night game against the dogs and both teams were out of contention for semis, if that was a Sunday at 2pm we would have got 20k
Likewise it would be unfair to play the bulk of games at Leichardt Oval
if we go to campbletown full time we are dead as a club we will not survive
I think the only choice is maybe 2 games each at LO and CSS and the rest at the new SFS or Accor stadium and push for a really good deal to play. I think we can push for a good deal at Accor given it may only be the dogs playing there
Wests Tigers boss fears more injuries if NSW government does not fund Leichhardt Oval upgrade
The Wests Tigers have warned more spectators will get hurt at Leichhardt Oval if urgent action is not taken after a grand stand collapsed over the weekend.
@jedi-tiger Why does the club have to play any games at Campbelltown the attendance are appalling… the only thing the club needs from that area are the juniors well build the Junior COE out there , all you hear from the club is talk well fellas get of your backsides and do something about it not hard !!I can relate that Leichhardt could have one home game as a show piece game as there is tradition there . All the other games except Tamworth at the new Alliance Stadium then if ever Accor is upgraded back there full time but to be frank your probably looking at a decade before that’s done . I just do not understand why this club bumbles around with this situation , go to Alliance for 10 games and the rush for premium memberships will be huge or stay at the suburban grounds with poor ammenities and try to survive on walk ups and small numbers of memberships . If the club does go down the suburban path there is no intention of expanding the brand it will be just replicating what has happened the last 20yrs living in the past !
@snake I agree with this. Everyone has been rattling on about a permanent move of our home to the South West, and I don't get it.

Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelishas warned more spectators will get hurt if the NSW Government refuses to fund improvements to Leichhardt Oval after part of a grand stand collapsed on the weekend.
Footage (see above) of a railing collapsing under the weight of excited fans celebrating a try at a schoolboy rugby union match sent shockwaves through social media on Saturday.
The frightening scenes could not have come at a worse time for Premier Dominic Perrottet after his government reneged on a funding deal with NRL bosses to upgrade a number of suburban grounds, including Leichhardt Oval.
“What happened on Saturday is indicative of the potential of what can occur throughout the entire venue.
“I have reached out this morning to the local mayor and I will be seeking an update from him as to what is going to happen in response in terms of an inspection of the facility to ensure that any risks of that nature are identified.
Saturday’s match between St Joseph’s and St Ignatius came to a stand still as a stunned 15,000-strong crowd watched paramedics rush to the aid of the injured.
Inner West Council councillor Marghanita da Cruz, whose ward takes in Leichhardt, told The Daily Telegraph on Sunday that at least two people sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Last week, Australian Rugby League Commission Chairman Peter V’landys entered a war of words with the NSW government, accusing the premier of failing to honour a $250 million agreement to upgrade suburban grounds.
Leichhardt Oval was slated to receive up to $50 million of that money, which has now been redirected to flood recovery efforts, to make much needed improvements and upgrades to the facility.
“It is very concerning. I’ve spoken about the facilities at Leichhardt being substandard, I have described them as third world and borderline dangerous,” Hagipantelis said.
“I think we have now crossed that border.
“What occurred on Saturday was very concerning but not surprising.
“My personal view is that the staircases, the seating, the toilets … all those facilities are substandard and I think are a genuine concern for all of us.”
The Tigers boss told The Daily Telegraph that the club’s final round game against Canberra on September 4 at the venue is likely to go ahead as planned.
“There will be a lot of work done between now and then. We’ll be working closely with the local council to ensure there is a proper inspection so we are left with a degree of confidence that it is safe for our spectators, fans and members,” Hagipantelis said.
“The last thing that any NRL club should have to consider is the risk of injury to patrons in attending a home game.
The NRL had signed a deal in 2018 that would have seen Olympic Park’s Accor Stadium get an $800 million upgrade, keeping the grand final in Sydney until 2042.
The Covid-19 pandemic meant that the deal was put on ice, with the NSW government announcing a $300 million stadium at Penrith instead.
A further $100 million was to be invested at Manly’s Four Pines Park and Cronulla’s PointsBet Stadium, respectively, as well as $50 million on Leichhardt Oval.
V’landys threatened to take this year’s NRL grand final to Queensland, for the second year running, if the NSW government didn’t fund the proposed upgrades and developments.
It’s believed NRL bosses have softened on that threat in recent days
“We believe in suburban stadiums, we’ve seen how our fans respond to that … These are multi purpose, multi sport community assets from grassroots to elite.
“This is what we are lobbying for on behalf of everyone in the game but also for the benefit of other sports. Many of these stadiums we are talking about have multiple tenants,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said on Sunday
