Push hard for redevelopment of Accor as homebush is a tigers area
play one or 2 games at LO and CSS
I don’t mind this suggestion. Same would apply by substituting SFS for Accor as well.
the wall behind the goals at LO collapsed today at the schoolboy game, footage on Ch 9 news looked terrible people falling everywhere
it was where the upgrade was going to happen to I think near the Glenn Morrison toilets

OMG
It’s a major issue for council given they are the owner.
Could have been very serious. I would say there will be lawyers involved for anyone seriously hurt.

@helmesy this is going to be a political land mine now . They just released now need for upgrades to suburban grounds , then one collapses .
At a rugby game no less . Ironic considering they were loudest protesting and lobbying the government to rescind.
I hope everyone is ok , and no serious long lasting injuries .
Dozens fall from stands @ Leichhardt oval during schools Union match
Leichhardt oval is just not up to standard to host large crowds. It needs a major upgrade.
I wonder how this will effect plans for home games next year and our final round match there this year. Frankly no further games should be played there until appropriate upgrades take place.

You would think a thorough safety audit will be ordered at very least.

In all seriousness the Inner city council were going to take half the granted money for another council owned property they have let run down as well they are the owners of the stadium they are the ones that have not up keeped it , in say that it’s difficult up keeping such a relic and it costs heaps just to maintain it at 1960’s level as that’s what this ground is ! Get serious and blame the people that allowed this to happen the local government.
In a months time there will be supporters of 2 clubs enjoying the most advanced stadium in the country while our supporters hope there is not a major hill slide that puts there lives in danger …yes Leichhardt oval is a relic and should be viewed as such !

💯. Should have been condemned years ago. The only thing about the 8th wonder is that’s it’s still standing, well some of it still is.
It goes to show however how stupid the state governments decision to invest in a new stadium at Penrith without any funds to maintain LO. The ground was hosting 15k at a school boy rugby game, last weekend a Sydney FC game, Tigers games etc. it is a well located boutique stadium that caters for rugby, league and soccer games that of many levels but it gets left to rot whilst the panthers build a brand new $300m stadium next door to their existing fit for purpose stadium

If the inner west council can’t maintain safety at LO they should sell it to the NSW government.
I wouldn’t get all worked up about the council. Campbelltown Sports Stadium is only marginally better. Seems no council can afford proper maintenance and upgrades to grounds used for large crowds without State Government assistance.
@mike Councils can’t fill pot holes … why does our club persist in dealing with these people these old out of date grounds will never have the money spent on them for a club to maximise profits and expand its supporter base … at present the Chairman is determined to flush the club down the rabbit hole by pushing for these grounds .Accor or Alliance are the future not the relics of the past !
