@helmesy Darcy will be shattered they were taking half the money to spend on upgrading a local swimming pool that the council should pay for .. there is no difference between him and the state government IMO all money should go to the ground improvement.
@tiger-symmetry Is that place Leichhardt oval where the team struggles to win on a good day so no fortress there , If no money is spent on either ground it’s a duck egg the premium membership base will never grow and that’s where the money is and survival .
@tigertownsfs Go to Campbelltown and the club dies , they see thousands of tiled roofs and think it will be like owning a casino but alas it’s a Mortgage belt where these people are struggling to put bread on the table ..there is a different train of thought when you are driving a Ferrari , I would think the Wests group have vivid recollections of what it’s like in the South West !

I agree, I love both grounds but they don’t offer a long term solution (unless massively upgraded).

I would be happy with a modern solution, but there isn't a modern ground that doesn't involves us making compromises, just like the traditional grounds involve making compromises. There is no ideal solution.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
@tiger-symmetry also shared with souths so not really a Roosters stronghold and not next to a leagues club like Parramatta
We should be aiming to be the best show in town. The most dynamic, forward thinking and confident club in Sydney, instead we are beholden to what (kind of) worked in the 1980s/90s.

@jedi-tiger Do you remember the Sydney Sports Ground, the traditional Roosters home ground? In case you don’t,the SFS is built upon it,thus my reference to Roosters’spiritual epicentre. And then you’re stating it’s not really a Roosters stronghold. That’s a long bow with all due respect.

Was a great place to watch footy. Only place as close as Leichhardt
I don’t think playing out of LO and the CSS is the answer. They have sentimental value and hold great memories but the facilities are substandard. As a club we need to play where we can draw consistently good crowds to remain profitable. Homebush and the SFS have the most upside to achieve this.

Ok @snake perhaps Leichhardt is no fortress, nor Campbelltown at the moment, but that can change. The point I’m making is we need a stand alone venue, rather than playing on the Rooster patch.Do you really want that ludicrous scenario where we’d play a home game at the SFS against the Roosters,as we have against Parra at CommBank Stadium?
As Lee H intimated today, the South West is the highest growth rate area in Australia.Personally,I’m in favour of going predominantly to Campbelltown where that growth is,and where all the future untapped talent and demographics lie.I understand there seems no perfect solution but it’s time to make a concrete decision.

9 @ CSS and 3 @ LO works for me.
@tiger-symmetry the Sydney sports ground a bit before my time but remember back in the day the game of the round was played there on a Sunday so mostly St George playing not always easts
SFS is not a Roosters stronghold at all and for the period 88 to 2012 or so it was shared souths and Roosters.
The sfs will be the best seat in town and as a club we need to be a part of that even if it is for 4 games and the rest split between CSS and LO
a 9 CSS and 3 LO treats the LO crowd like plebs
it should be an even split or perhaps 7 CSS and 5 LO split at worst especially if no upgrade to either stadium
