2 teams that finished below us on the ladder last year are currently 3rd and 4th. Previous years parra were bottom 3 now constant top 4 to 6 . Teams seem to pass us on the way up and on the way down in cycles yet we never move for years around 9-13

Welcome Nads, hopefully next year we’ll be a better side and push for the semis.

Cheers helmesy, love the podcast. It has bugged me that many years we would finish 9 or 10 and teams that got the spoon or close to it would pass us on the way up in the following years and obviously some pass on the way down however we just seem to tread water

Yeah it’s bloody annoying. Other sides seem to make it look so easy, add a player or two, bring in some youngsters and they’re back in the winners circle - like the Broncos.

Broncos have spent the last 2 years out of the finals, collecting a wooden spoon.
They have improved this year off the back of Reynolds who is 31 and souths let go due to injury concerns
Their remaining spine is Gamble, Walters and Martin - which is probably equal to Bulldogs as the weakest spine in the comp.
I need to see more before thinking the Broncos will be up the ladder in a sustainable manner
- I think they could be more like the dragons who have made 8th a couple of times to get bundled out in first week of finals then drop back down into bottom 8 again

Your reply to Nads just confirms what he is saying. You name all this average players for the bronco’s then assume that they will slip back down the ladder, and yet they are above us on the ladder and at this rate will make finals and that’s after they finished below us last season. And that’s why Nads is asking the question how and why
