As we seem to be, in some respects, following the Panthers’ model for success (pathways, elite training facility etc) I took a peak at the Panthers’ Academy online a few weeks ago. I noticed written in the wall of the gym “win without the ball”. Simple enough but also very effective & has arguably come to identify their style of play. They’re extremely fit, arguably the fittest team in the comp’ & their high performance people must be congratulated. But it’s all helped to make them a team that is so good without the ball as well as with it. But that “win without the ball” might seem a small detail but it’s part of who they wanted to be.

I know the Tigers have something on the walls of the gym at the Centre of Excellence but I cannot recall it just now. Whatever it was it didn’t really impress me much in terms of inspiring the current players or the young blokes coming through. So I’m asking people here what do you think could be written on the walls at the Centre of Excellence that might inspire & come to identify the Tigers team in the coming years? Because in my mind if the club is to become successful every detail counts, the small details as Steve would say, but this relates to not only the game but training/preparation as well.

“Effort is all that matters”. I think that might inspire how they train & prepare. If it underpins the players’ approach to everything they do on & off the field then it can only be positive. Take that into games & it’ll go a long way to improving the results I reckon.

@mike Steve would like that one. And you’re right, those details matter right through the club too especially if change is to come sooner rather than later.
