Noone is more Balmain than Dawn Fraser is there, oh, maybe Laurie Nichols 🤔Balmain" than Dawn.
All this is telling me that you need good policies and procedures that the inexperienced can follow. That’s the job of the CEO to ensure they are in place and followed. From the outside looking in this is where operations fails miserably.

Danny Stapleton is the "independent" board seat. The Stapleton family have been involved in Balmain Tigers for generations. Im an old Balmain boy and Danny is a good bloke, but IMO the board should have minimum of 3 actual independent members with relevant skills.
@jirskyr I don’t agree with what your saying mate . That just reads like excuses IMO.
And not everyone in the club is underpaid . So those who arnt need to lead those who are junior .
And once again there’s a leadership void.
Im not having a go at the interns/ juniors .
Im having a go at the guys who have been there X amount of years and allow this stuff to happen .
When we were on even less money , we had a really good team lead by Dan Talantyne .
Dare I say , market leading with our graphic designs and crisp on line presence .
So that says to me , that the current team , who would have more money , are inferior . Which says to me , Dan and his team gave a shit , and the new guys don’t .
Which opens a bigger can of worms with Gen Z in general . The 20-30 year olds who offer an inferior product but want the same compensation .
This is rampant across multiple industries . And whilst other industries don’t have the media presence professional sports does , this one does .
I can cop 1,2 maybe even 3 mistakes , but it’s absolutely constant . And the whole team needs a performance uplift .
Theres too much justification of bad behaviours and not enough accountability.
The whole “pay peanuts , get monkeys” philosophy, whilst in a vacuum is true , it gives people an out .
man’s unfortunately, this club has a huge habit of working down to these stereotypes , not trying to transcend them
Has Chris Warran taken over Dan's old role of Media Manager?

Joel your thread has hit the big time...........
Lee is echoing a lot of what Garry has been saying on the pods re: populism not being a great thing either, which I absolutely agree with.
The rest of his quotes are confusing tbh.
- O@frullens dunno mate ! Just Dan was approachable , and I Was on twitter/ Facebook a lot when he was in charge of it . And it always has a real edge to it . I don’t know the bloke , and only chatter to him a few times , but yea it was a far cry from what it is now IMO.
Look it’s nothing personal ,I’m not out for a witch hunt over here , I just want some bloody honesty .
If 17 blokes with a combined IQ of 1000 can go to a camp in Kiama and come away with it , why can’t a group of individuals with more letters and titles associated with their name , than a thesaurus not !
Say what you will about old school footy people ,( I personally think they’re the reason we are only now are truely getting an elite sport) but they knew how to galvanise a club and getting everyone rowing in the same direction .
Like guys like Avo and Gallagher have said , the Pascoes of the world are good at the CFO roles , but I’m no longer sure if a guy like that can do the job at a winning football club .
Ben Ikin takes over the former shambles that the broncos were , and they all of a sudden are a juggernaut.
There’s something to be said about that …

Just so we are clear, Ikin is not the CEO of Broncos, he's the Head of Football, like Sheens was last year. Dave Donaghy is the CEO of Broncos - not an ex-footballer.
We are crying out for a difference maker in that role tbh. Really need someone there now that Sheens is coaching day to day.
I don’t understand how Lee says “we’re all accountable” in the same article where he says “we’ve committed to a particular pathway forwards and there’s no turning back now.” That same article states that there is no circuit breaker or way of changing the board.
So, they’re accountable to the point that it becomes untenable and then that person, should they so choose (with no prior examples of) “falling on their sword”.
This is so vague and anti-lawyer like. What happens if we have a winless season? We hope the CEO or a coach etc just says “I’ll take one for the team” and move aside.
There is no accountability if accountability isn’t somehow enforced.

This comes across as a childish, petulant rant because there is (rightly) criticism directed at the club for inept performances on and off the field.
questions for me:-
Why does both Lee and Justin need to make separate statements to the media?
if you have belief in the current direction of the club? Why do you need to constantly go out of your way to justify yourself?
Why comment so publicly about accountability (and lack thereof)? How does this assist the clubs current predictament or the players mindset?
This weeks shows to me that the current club leadership are preoccupied with their personal media profiles and self preservation. The clubs interests and their long suffering fans concerns are secondary
The only way anything changes, realistically, is to en masse cancel our memberships.

There are better ways of doing things though as well. It's interesting that a number of points from the pod and forum were raised in that article.Lee is echoing a lot of what Garry has been saying on the pods re: populism not being a great thing either, which I absolutely agree with.
The rest of his quotes are confusing tbh.
