Can I just say another thing about the Army's involvement. Clearances to come onto the base and have some pics taken and some advice on the artwork most likely came from a Col or Brig because of it's sensitive nature.
I'm going to upset a few people here but a lot of soldiers who have done a knive, fork and spoon course and have pips wouldn't know what the pointy end of a rifle is for. The clipart on that jersey looks vague and unless your a cluey soldier the details could be clouded. I still think it's silly. Our sponsor should get his huge billboard advert off this jersey and replace it with Lest We Forget. After all it's not about his company it's about fallen soldiers.... isn't it? 🤔

I agree with you, but i dont think Bo Vette Walsh. If you go to my original post, you will notice that I edited it. This is because I actually did name her Bottile Vette, but I dont think it is her, so then I went looking for who it is and her name and cant find her anywhere. As far as I could find there wasnt a team page like they have for the men. I apologise for calling her "Batemans mate", previously I named her "the NRLW player" prior to that I named her Bottile Vette, but I genuinely dont think it is her.

I agree though that not only media but our media dept stuff up details far too often.
A media statement should have come from the defence force before kenty shot his mouth off. It's not the first time this has happened.

There's an article in the SMH today exactly to that effect. It moves the Tigers bungle to the side as a honest mistake, and asks why clubs and the leagues are cashing in on ANZAC Day. Not just NRL, AFL too.

It's irked me for years because it's slowly becoming hollow and just another media event.

I think that can all be put to bed then. Tigers acknowledge they made a poor choice in their design photo, fine. Tigers can prove the collaborated with Holsworthy but did not claim to get ADF approval for images used. NRL in fact gave final approval to the product that was released.
Pretty predictable; it would truly have been pathetic management to lie about engaging Holsworthy, but also borderline ridiculous because such a claim would be easily refuted (Holsworthy themselves could simply issue a statement denying involvement, which they have not). Even Tigers aren't that bad.
Interesting how Holsworthy and NRL are spared any heat in all of this; I don't suppose Fox are particularly interested in going after the NRL at large, nor the army.
