For any other club this would be fairly embarrassing and followed up with an apology. For us it's business as usual.

In the past 7 days:

  1. Commemorative jersey feature american troops from a stock google image.
  2. Brooks loses 15th game in a row. Named at 7 again despite winning 2 of past 23 games.
  3. Sheens proclaims Doueihi best fullback at the club. Plays so poorly he's demoted back to the halves from where he was previously moved for poor play.
  4. Pascoe on the phone in the dressing room at half time, and kicking a ball on pitch pre game. Chairman Lee defends him on his nauseating radio segment.
  5. Pascoe does interview with Buzz Rothfield defending his idiocy and showing absolute zero self awareness.
  6. Sheens saying he hopes we can win during the bye round.
  7. Laurie liking posts of opposition player scoring against us.
  8. Tigers try to sign Mitchell Pearce, tells us to bugger off.
  9. Kepaoa, who has bulked up in the offseason to play in the backrow and performed well all year, moved to wing.
  10. Chris Heighington has his name spelt completely wrong by WT media team on tweet advertising latest episode of 'ask the boss'.

Did I miss anything?

What's your argument though? That Tigers make mistakes, that there are issues with the club? I thought that was obvious already. Half of the things you've listed out are nothings, like Luke Brooks being a loser or Kepaoa playing wing - by the way AJ has played wing for Tigers 14 times in the past.

What's really concerning me are these pile-ons, it's coming from everywhere, every time Tigers put their foot wrong. Worst from Tigers fans.

Consider an analogy: your son makes some behavioural mistakes at school. Is the best course of action to acknowledge his mistakes and plot a constructive path forward, or do you become hugely sensitive and critical to any mistake he makes in the future? Are you understanding and supportive that it's a journey towards improvement, or do you smack him back down at the whiff of an indiscretion?

I don't understand it and it's become so concerning for me. It's a response to the lack of wins of course - none of this stuff would matter if Tigers were winning footy. But because we are not winning, it's gone the opposite way and everything stupid has become super-serious.

I've said it before: I can't wait for Pascoe to get the sack or resign. Because then it will at least give us some little breathing space where fans are not clamouring for someone to blame for everything. I don't think the head of Pascoe will make a difference for the footy results, I truly do not, but he's become such a toxic figurehead that I think as fans we need the break.

But I also think as fans we have a responsibility to understand the position the club is in, and not get hysterical every week when some minor indiscretion comes up. Sure, Daine Laurie should not have liked a try by Cobbo, but really why does anyone care?

I got told many years ago, when I liked to do football analysis (on-field play) - when I had time to do football analysis - that "only wins matter". And that's something I took to heart. But your list of 10 points makes it appear that actually, wins aren't the only thing that matter, unless you have a lot of wins already in the bank. Instead, until you bank a respectable amount of wins, actually "everything matters" and there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I've tried, I've tried in the other forum to provide a counter-opinion, some kind of balance, but as you are all aware there's a lot of howl-downs, and it's become a little "echo-chambery" for the shouters.

Of course people are free to get upset about the jersey, but I think it's such a nothing issue whilst we are trying to find the road to success. I'm not interested in spending much time being concerned about it, rather I am concerned about the level of the fanbase's response.

We are the most incompetent sporting team in Australia, professional or not. My son plays u/5 soccer and his club is better run.

We're a meme club and the joke of the NRL, and deservedly so.

Mate my son plays U8s soccer and we lined up for 45 minutes to get his team shorts, for the people standing behind us in the queue (and everyone behind them) to find out that I had picked up the last pair of kids' shorts.

Sounds like he plays for a club aligned to or inspired by WT.

This jersey thing is just another own goal by the club compounded by not taking responsibility for the error. Surely they can find a similar image to update the jersey with.

I'm glad it's just American soldiers and not members of ISIS or the Taliban. That could have been a real doozy.

Do I understand correctly - it's not American soldiers, it's just generic soldiers right, it's some stock photoshop thing they've licenced. They have no nationality.

I posted in the other forum, though that just leads to howls and cat-calling, that I think this is a very small issue, but I think Tigers have made a grave mistake by backpedalling and listening to the howls on social media. They should have pushed on and ignored it all.

It's a lack of attention to detail. It's unprofessional. If you're ok with it that's fine but I can assure you 95% of people are not.

How precisely will you assure me that 95% of people are not happy with the jersey?

Also it's got nothing to do with footy, that's why I ignore it. Not fine, not fine at all, but not a thing to be upset about. Are people trying to draw a correlation between bad jersey design and player performance? Does anyone really believe players play badly because senior management have gaffes, and that the absence of gaffes will correct the performance of the players?

Canterbury district actually. Let's not kid ourselves that most clubs are run very amateurishly, all the way up to and deep into the NRL.

But you never think anything is a big issue. You dismiss everything as hyperbole without recognising that all these things add up. My argument is that the most unprofessional team in the NRL that are coming dead last are shooting themselves in the foot every week by having no self awareness and zero attention to detail. As most of us have faced in our professional life, when things are going badly it's incredibly important to do the little things right. We're not getting the little things right and it shows.

Well across both forums and all facebook groups you're pretty the only one that doesn't seem bothered by it.

I'm ex military and tbh it's not a big thing. ANZAC Day itself has become too commercialized and so is any commemorative event these days.

It's all media hype. Weststigers were led astray by military and have come out and said that. They have also said sorry. They now are in the process of making another one....end of story.

Get off our backs journos.

One way to stop all this crap media is to beat the slimey eels 🙏

It's not the point. It's just getting things right and we don't seem to be able to do it, and haven;t for years.

Anyway i'm not going to talk about it anymore because it just gives the issue more oxygen

The processes in place did not capture this and many other issues. That’s the CEOs responsibility to ensure the policies and procedures are in place so errors like this don’t happen. The jersey on its own is minor, but it becomes part of a dossier of stuff ups that is huge. Do I think it affects players? Absolutely I do and especially when there is no accountability. It’s an attitude that filters down through the organisation. It’s why good, dare I say great players, when the come here they end up being Wests Tiger players, if you get my drift.

This is a bit embarrassing in that we've backed down and so forth, but surely the design would have come from the supplier rather than someone within WT playing around with graphic design software for a few hours.

Tend to agree with this.

It’s one thing to be incompetent, another thing to be a combo of incompetent and arrogant.
