If we replace Madge ...who gets the job who is actually better than Madge

That is the problem in my eyes

I don’t disagree with this. But the coaching has to be better. We were poor in attack and defence last year and played with little passion. Significant changes have been made so I’m assuming the problem has been identified and rectified. But it’s not that simple. Players need to take responsibility as well, as do admin. Whole club needs to lift and I’m not happy to watch another year or sub par efforts. The club needs to be better now!

What I’m seeing actually indicates improvement is happening. It’s not all doom and gloom. My point is there needs to be significant effort leading to improvement now, not using a 12 month away goal as an excuse for another year of inadequacy

I don't see significant improvement in the roster, coach is the same. We need an improvement in player attitude to get an improved result for 2022. That is my hope for a better year, in saying that this squad as shown time and again that they are mentally weak.

Totally agree , it's up to the cattle to stand up and prove they are quality 1st grade NRL players ...if not , the doors that way and don't let it hit you on the ass on the way out

@unhappy-tiger And what about the man who had a say in recruiting or re-signing 95% of that squad.

He had a big say took over a team that finished 9th and has worked his way down the ladder. Like Steve said if we can’t finish 8/9 he has to go no more excuses

Only if you have a better replacement,  I want someone that will ensure success if we make a change. I believe this is a conversation for next off season though.

With the roster we have we will be lucky to not finish in the bottom 2. I don't think there is a roster with less experience, and what experience there is does not have much talent.

Madge is in a no win situation. Failure and he is gone with his coaching career likely over (like all previous coaches at this club). Any success will be credited to Sheens

Cleary is the only coach to get another NRL top gig after leaving the Tigers and he walked out before the club could kill his career.

Garry, there are only two coaches in the game that could pretty much guarantee success and neither will be at the Wests Tigers in the next five years.

Exactly, so change of coach is only for hope in our present situation. The new signings have given me that little bit of hope, a change of coach would need to inspire confidence and there really aren't many stronger candidates.

Hopefully this year we can actually see some game planning and adjustments in our team.

Lets hope we get to the off season before it needs to be discussed.

@garry Garry you may be right in what you say but do we just keep the same coach if there is no improvement simply because we think there’s no one better. You say hopefully this year as tigers supporters that’s the problem we have been living in the land of hope for a long long time now

All a new coach will bring is hope, you would need Robinson or Bellamy to have any real chance of being confident of success and that won't happen. I don't want hope, I want to be confident of success and those 2 are the only coaches that would give me confidence, in my opinion every other coach has just has many question marks as Madge.

I am in no way saying I am happy with Madge, though him being successful is our only chance for success next year, much the same as Brooks being successful. At this point in time I will throw my support behind them as I want to make the 8 next year.

Show me a better coach and I agree , this current squad is 100-1 of playing finals footy in 2022

Our trial game against Manly last year we looked a million dollars and I had high hopes for 2021. After a few games of the season proper I knew we were in for a very long year.

we have has 3 years under Maguire and got worse each year. We now have new assistant coaches but not much in the way of top new players in the squad so I’m not tipping top 8.

I’m now getting nervous about Stefano re-signing as we were ‘told by people in the know’ that he would sign before Christmas. I think his manager has other ideas.

Anyway, I hope pessimist me is wrong and our young blokes smash it and we have a strong 2022 🤞

@cqtiger I remember feeling the same. Our backline looked very sharp but it all went to crap very quickly.

My hope is a few players really step up. If Stefano, Blore, Mikaele, Musgrove, Seyfarth go to next level our forward pack is ok.

Also if Laurie, Douehi, Maumalo improve AND Gildart, Peachey and Hastings play well then our backline is faster and more creative.

Lots if ifs here and easy to slam my post as very wishful thinking but this is our only hope for a top 8 berth this year imo
