Smells rotten. Odds on that Klein tipped off the onfield referee. Will be a big problem for the NRL given that was after the “short whistle” so game was over
You might be on to something there. There was so much wrong in that one play.
As predicted Tigers don't take this to court, because it's not a winnable case. They've done all they can with the NRL.
This is not stopping a lot of unrealistic fans on socials jumping up and down complaining that Tigers won't piss a few hundred thousand against the wall in a pointless legal action.
Also consider that Tigers are certainly going to request NRL support in the enforcement of the Papali'i contract; imagine if we were simultaneously suing the NRL and asking for their help.
@jirskyr You are probably treading the saner path as who knows what has been said on the matter behind the scenes by the big powerbrokers that every club is dependent upon.No doubt legal action against the NRL would prove costly, time consuming, and in the scheme of things futile, aside from Wooden Spoon avoidance.
But for the record,I’d love to know a) whether the NRL actually released the audio file to the club?
b)if so,how long before it was received ?
c)what were Ashley Klein’s directives in actual time?
Pointless perhaps, but at least providing a degree of truth and transparency in one of the game’s greatest ever blunders.
