The severity of Charlie's injury has surfaced after he was rushed to hospital post game. The guy could've died. Not knowing what was wrong Charlie played through the injury and reported to medical staff after the game.

This should spur the boys on and rally around the lad.

Snippet from DT....Charlie Staines has earned the astonishment and praise of his Wests Tigers teammates for playing on through the pain of a perforated bowel.

David Klemmer says his respect for wingers has increased exponentially after discovering that Wests Tigers teammate Charlie Staines played on with a perforated bowel in Sunday’s defeat to Manly.

It’s believed Staines copped a knock in the second half, yet he stayed on the park as the Tigers searched for their first win of the season.

Tough Lad. It hasn't been confirmed yet the extent of his recovery but initial reports were saying anything around the 6-8 week period. After doing some reading he may require a drain/bag and the tear will heal naturally over time (after being repaired)

If your reading this Charlie, all the best mate and a speedy recovery.

I've been impressed by your efforts so far with the WT.

🤜🤛

This injury is a reminder that some collisions in the NRL really are like being in a car crash. I hope Charlie is going okay and wish him a fast recovery.

I get positive vibes watching Charlie play for us and would like to see him re-signed as a valued member of our squad. Give us more of the Forbes Ferrari please!
