Changes for Newcastle game

Id be surprised if there was any unforced change to the 17. My guess is Api and Simpkins switch roles and Pole plays more minutes otherwise we will see the same lineup. The structural issues (1 and 7) will not be fixed or experimented with any time soon. Let’s see if Benji and Sheens can course correct

@helmesy agree 100% Nofa is on borrowed time and Laurie might be also... These young kids (Bula, Tupou) that are knocking on the door need to keep their performances high then come R10 we might see a total change.

Would be nice to have outside backs that can catch and hold onto a ball (Nofa looking at you)

Firstly we need a coach that has a set, for changes to be made. Dare I say it uncle Wayne has RE Milford and Cleary has with the in question Nofoaluma.

Would love to replace Laurie but there's noone to take his place.

I have not been a fan of Staines or the decision to buy him, but Im warming to him. he is certainly fast and at the game he was looking for work all night and happy to do the dirty runs. It wont happen yet and I dont think Staines has the passing game of Laurie, but Id be happy to give him a go.

I think both are keeping a spot warm for Bula round 10.

What was Talau's issue? Injured, or just continually cramping after about 60mins? Either way, not moving freely took away any sting in his attacking side.

Maybe Kepoa to centre for him, and Bateman onto the bench?

@barra 1st round cramps - Sheens talks to it in the presser.

Brent Naden hurt his foot / ankle with about 10 to go. He'd be in some doubt for this week. He was limping heavily in the dying stages.

Assuming that Blore is out due to HIA 12 day break then I would play Pole at right back row. I don't get the wraps on AJ Kepaoa this year. He still makes handling errors too often for my liking.

If Blore is out I hope Matamua comes on to the bench and splits time at 13 with Bateman.

@tiger5150 Bula looked a class above in the reggies game yesterday. I think he's going to be sensational.

I haven’t seen him play, does he appear to have a good all-round fullback game? More than just the highlights reel?

Big stats from the game yesterday, 240 something metres and this;

"The Magpies piled on the misery when fullback Jahream Bula used his blistering pace to sprint the length of the field and earn himself a stunning solo try."

But definitely need to know more!

Ah thanks, didn't watch the presser yet but plenty of cramping going on.

He looked really good yesterday, a real attacking weapon. Big, tall and fast.

@helmesy Watching yesterday he has great on field presence and knows where to be .. he will be the fullback next season . After 10 rounds of reserve grade think NRL beckons.. IMO he is way in front of Laurie still young so who knows what the later part of the season has installed for Bula !

And that is my worry 240 sounds awesome until you take out the 80-90 metre run.

Laurie made over 200m yesterday and was average.

One good run and people get excited.

Put together a couple of months good work and then look at him.

Bula was excellent. Smith and Wakeham put some nice plays on and executed well. Kautoga and Tumeth were strong and ran some great lines.

@avocadoontoast Bula looked very good, but would like to see him against nrl style opposition.

Da Silva played well also in his game

we have some good guys coming through
