@declan Fair enough then mate.I guess we’ll have to see how it pans out.I’m inclined to think that it won’t happen given the nature of the injury Adam’s returning from and the fact that Hastings has been playing injured.A big game in context of spoon avoidance!
Just saw who wrote the article. Hooper. I now expect Brooks and Twal to line up against the Warriors next weekend
Touché...The Scoop is at it again!haha
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)

here is a great idea peachey is on 750k and brooks 1.1 million for 2023
why don't we pay 450k for peachey and 750k for brooks to play elsewhere.
way to blow 1.2 million of our cap for 2023
No way, those figures have to be inflated. Whoever signed these players on that sort of money needs to be charged with fraud. Surely “kickbacks” are in play.
@eastiemagpie Paul Kent now says Peachey is on 650k over 2 years, 300k 2022 and 350k 2023
All these player salaries are guesswork and some on here actually believe Brooks is on 1.1 million in 2023 why because Rothfield says so? Call rubbish on 1.1 million for brooks if and a big if it is then what we're Newcastle going to pay this year 2022, 450k and we kick in 400k to make up 850k and then 2023 they pay full freight of 1.1 million dollars.
What the club should be doing this year is front loading Brooks for 2023 pay 300k this year for next year so maybe if they do want to move Brooks on in 2023 it might be possible. If Brooks is in reserve grade and you were Newcastle or Dolphins you would seriously lowball the Tigers and pay 200k make us carry Tue can for 2023 potentially 900k if the figure is believed. At 900k to play elsewhere that is ridiculous he plays for Tigers in 2023 and let 2024 be a different story if need be

I get what you are saying and your commercial approach. But I am not a fan of frontloading contracts or paying players to play elsewhere. This just rewards poor effort and attitude, and sets an example for others. My preferred approach for Brooks would be to play him in reserve grade for him to work on his game and get his confidence. Either way we waste money but with dropping him it may make others think twice before displaying poor attitude.
Our forwards were punching above their weight for most of this year until we released Mikaele- then our very shallow depth was exposed and the air has been let out of the balloon
I think it was more Stefano (injury) than Mikaele but both contribute. The team were over-performing for most of the year and we were playing better in many areas. Our average points against were way better than last year but we fell away when our lack of depth exposed itself.
Whilst Brooks didn't do much, there's a limit to what ANY half can do with 35% of possession and forwards being dominated. We were trampled on Sunday, pure and simple. Wally Lewis wouldn't have made a difference. Our forwards cupboard is bare.
