Early mail is that Hastings is playing 13, Brooks is playing 7 and AD is playing 6.

omg

If you are looking at giving AD a shot at 6 I can see the reasoning but isn't what I would have done.

It's bizarre.

I don't have high hopes for a Hastings/ AD pairing so can see what they are trying to do but I would just with Hastings/Ad so we know what it holds.

Yeah exactly, just give it a go and see what happens.

They need to keep Brooks in the team. He's effectively in the shop window for the rest of the year. If they drop him to reggies then what club is going to take him on for next year?

There's going to be movement on Brooks very soon I predict. Knights and Dolphins are fighting over Milford. Whoever doesnt get Milford will chase Brooks IMO.

Its worth noting that a good portion of the players signed by Redcliffe are Moses clients and Brooks is also one

Keeping Brooks in the team is crazy enough, but moving Joe O to facilitate him staying in the team is crazy. He's been our most consistent player all year.

I can't argue with that.

If they insist on putting Brooks in the team throw him in the centres. He's no worse than To'a.

He looked half decent for our last 2 tries basically playing centre

He did. He's fast and a decent defender. I think he'd be pretty good there.

It would solve an uncomfortable stand off between the coach, Hastings and AD. Would you put Naden at right centre (which would knock out Tupou) or left wing? If Naden was on left wing, what do you do with Ken? I'd like to see Ken in the backrow but his D is sketchy.

@garry Brooks is never getting dropped ,this is a Sheens selection .. if Sheens is coach next season Brooks will be selected at 7 every week regardless of form . This is what Sheens does REMEMBER! Form means nothing .

If true this is just nonsense.

We know what Brooks at 7 and Ad at 6 looks like, we seen it for a chunk of last season and it wasn't good.

There's a reason Madge moved Brooks from 7 to 6, because he was really poor at 7.

We will learn absolutely nothing from this, it's utterly pointless.

Only possibility is Hastings plays 1st receiver with AD and Brooks either side of the ruck.

Ive floated the idea before that Hastings has a 13 on his back - defends in the middle but plays as first receiver in attack

Brooks and AD have 6 & 7 on their back - defend on edges and play as second receiver on either side in attack

Essentially similar to Panthers with Yeo, Cleary and Laui

Open to this - if Hastings is happy

Top 8 2023

The Occam's razor principle needs to be applied here, the simplest and most obvious solution is likely to be the correct one.

No matter where you play Brooks on the park the poor decision making and poor execution which have polluted his game for the past 7 years will still be evident

Why can we not at least try to play without him in the side, if for no other reason than to prove to the members and fans that we are capable of dropping him and he's not a walk up starter regardless of form because that's what it's starting to look like.

Does anyone know, who is the person at the tigers that forbids Brooks from being dropped? Everyone can see that he should play reserve grade but they just can't do it. Why?

With the new coaching staff throwing their support behind Brooks it pretty much guarantees he isn’t going anywhere and will be the No. 7 for the foreseeable future.
