There is a serious Ruga Leeg disease identified as Brooks Derangement Syndrome (BDS). It is an affliction whereby the fact that a player hasnt turned into Andrew Johns after 180 games and is getting paid too much money means that he is determined to play badly no matter what he does.
BDS was first identified burning through the supporter cohort before spreading to the media. It is now identified as a full blown epidemic as it apparently has spread to the Wests Tigers coaching staff.
Symptoms of BDS include moving Luke Brooks to hooker despite the fact that he is proven to be the best 6 at the club and 4-5th best hooker. Second phase symptoms include the collapse of any structured attack and decline in the teams kicking game, ultimately resulting in fatal consequences for the team winning a game.

After watching today I don’t know how anyone could possibly come to the conclusion that Brooks is the best 6 in the team. AD with no match fitness was eons better.
Brooks has talent and speed but for some reason he cannot use his talent at our club. Sheens when referring to Madge’s dismissal was talking about square pegs in round holes. Same applies to Brooks. He was not our worst player today, there were quite a few in front of him.
No other club would toggle through halves like we do during the game. It’s a completely mindless strategy and whoever came up with it should be shot.
at this point I would give Hastings/douhie 2 or 3 games together for 80min and then let Hastings go have his operation on his foot. Then let brooks play out the rest of the year at 7 and hope someone will pick up as much as possible if his salary for next year. If we want to give the starting 9 a spell we should carry Simpkin on the bench as this will be his role next year.

So our attack looked better in the middle 2/3 of the game today? The majority of the game was Hastings and AD in the halves and we never looked like scoring. Poor kicking game.

100% correct

Our defence was good enough that with sustained attack we might have cracked them and changed the story, but we decided to cho and change and IMO our attack fel apart for the middle 2/3s.
@avocadoontoast Douhies bombs were just as ineffective as Brooks Douhiendidnt do much today either and neither did Hastings

Why don't we kick to the corners like other teams - madness.
If you are paid $1m a year can you please kick for distance when kicking for touch?
thankyou

so true. Our kicking game is poor, can’t find the grass, not enough distance or not enough hang time to pressure the opposition back three. On another note, The Warriors put pressure on our kickers on every kick, we were too gassed to put any pressure on theirs, they had heaps of time to place their kicks.
@eastiemagpie I find the square peg, round hole analogy funny. Do you keep getting rid of the wrong shaped pegs, and watch those pegs succeed elsewhere.
or do you make a couple of minor alterations to your hole.

yeah really good question, I don’t have an answer. With Brooks, the club has tried a lot of things and to his credit he has always has a good crack but things haven’t worked. Gave him the keys, moved to six, encouraged his running game, different head coaches and specialist coaches are things that come to mind. And yes, if he moves to another club he’ll probably kill it.

Honestly don’t think he’d kill it at any club tbh….even the top ones !!

Exactly. Though I think we need more than minor changes.
