I actually think we’re a good chance to get him I’m just not sure if it is the right move for us. I don’t know if we’ll have the right pieces around him for him to shine. In saying that I’d take the shot.
We've just invested in young halves. Luai is miles better than Sezer (who can play backup in reserves for the year) if we happen to trade simpkin for luai for 2024. Sullivan can play 7 to start the year.
If Luai doesn't come here until 2025 then by that point we will know if Sullivan is any good or you play Fainu at 7 and Luai at 6
if we get Luai I think Best will be a big chance.

Luai isn't the sort of guy to entice other players to come, and for us he's nowhere near as valuable as Moses. Moses is a controlling half with an excellent kicking game. Luai is a 6. Moses would have been a lot better for us than Luai, but he isnt available, Luai is.
Ideally we need an organising half with good kicking and passing game and Im not sure that is Luai, but is it Sezer/Bud/Fainu? as far as attracting some backs, Luai, Api, Ice, Bateman, klem, Bula etc must start to be looking more attractive? Results will be the test.

really? This seems hard to believe. Certainly would be exciting to see something new. I guess that puts our halves as sezer/luai with the other two playing reserves.
@tigertownsfs if Luai does come for 24 (which I reckon is very very unlikely) I would think the halves would be Luai/Sullivan. That’s just a gut feel after reading the articles last week.

Fainu definatly can spend more time in reserve grade. It does make the pathway to first grade for Fainu challenging if Sullivan plays well but I guess that would be a nice change to have genuine quality to choose from. Really cements douhie to centre as well.

If he does come we will have to overpay. When you’re at the bottom of the table it’s what’s required to make a big signing. Fwiw I have no issue overpaying, but it has to be for the right player (not sure Luai is but hope I’m wrong).
