@campo I also thought Sheens wanted to get rid of Bryce Gibbs and cronulla would only take him if they got fifita
I think you’re right, it was a package deal. I also recall Fifita having a falling out with a fellow high profile player, might have been Benji.
and Robbie....remember the "two dressing rooms"?

Tell us more… I remember the playing group being unhappy with Sheens shopping contracted players (becoming Tiger Sharks), but I don’t remember anything about two dressing rooms.

I dont really know more, I just remember that that was one of Fatfita's parting shots, that there was "two dressing rooms" and that is pretty much where the talk of a "boys club" originated.
@tiger5150 A lot of water has passed under the bridge since he went. I hope Sheens considers him for an offer of a one yr contract at no more than $300K. Yes, age is against him and his injuries could blow up. But with Musgrove and Stefano being so impotent in 2022, and with other than Lodge no real front row talent available, WT has to build our front row stocks at least until Pole finds his feet. Andrew could help in short spurts. He inspires his team mates and will lead from the front. And boy do we need experience in the engine room. At least he wants to come back and if he does will give his absolute all. In my opinion $300K for one yr but not a cent more. By Nov 1 we'll know more if he plays in the 3 matches Samoa has before then.

Respectfully, I couldn't disagree with you more. If this club is serious about turning things around, Fifita is exactly the wrong sort of player to sign. Old, injury riddled, noted poor trainer and overweight with a poor attitude.
Only reason he has said he would come back, is he knows he isn't getting a contract anywhere else in the NRL. He is off contract at the end of this year, no need to wait until 1 Nov.

I agree, he probably has no offers and is only looking at us to top up his super.
No
That was a short, sharp one word answer 😆
At last I get the one word bit right😂😂
Ive been pretty clear about not wanting Fifita here, but if we lost musgrove (3 years on good money) who has been terrible, a cheap one year deal for Fifita wouldnt be the worst thing.
He's still capable of getting up a good head of steam and denting the line. Just needs to be used in shorter stints as part of sensible rotation. If his medical checks out and he doesn't want too much money then I think it would be a good move.
We need to move away from signing players at the end of their careers.
I thought that he had quite a fallout with Sheens when he left.
Think he may be past the user by date but you never know.
Rumour around about possible return of Curtis Siro would be worth exploring though particularly if he could hold up his Manly form levels …. without the injuries.

You’d think there would have to be a medical clearance before either was signed.
