Yeah I see either he or Peachey wearing 13 or 14. Maybe it will depend on who and when we are playing. Both hopefully nail down this position.

Does Peachey’s utility value see him more likely to be a bench player?

Tbh I hope both are in the 17 for starters and I also think it should depend on who we are playing and conditions. But what do I know 🤔

Lock seems to be a position in some sort of transition. Not that long ago it was simple that your lock had to be a BIG but mobile unit, but with the latest round of rule changes it might be changing to a much more mobile, smaller player dare I say it like Heino or even the old school locks like Pearce and the Rapers etc before then.

I dont know the answer and I guess it will always depend on the cattle you have but I see a Seyfarth or Peach decision

As a club we have been looking for a ball playing mobile lock for the past couple of years, that is exactly the reasoning behind signing Peachey. I do believe with our lack of depth in the centres that Peachey is needed there to start the season which will see Seyfarth at lock.

Another consideration is I am hoping for large development of Simpkins over the off season and hopefully he can cause a headache by putting his hand up for the lock position as well.

Yes, Simpkins is a bit of a forgotten man this off season, could be a big contributor this year.

Imagine if he makes a similar jump to the one Stefano made last year.

i am trying to not be scarred by the events of the past and just hope it is taking a little longer to get right than was expected.

Worried about the Dolphins with Stefano.

@helmesy Dolphins just signed Bromwich and Nicholls plus Bennett is renowned for not paying big money in the front row so I would be surprised if he went there. The Eels and Roosters on the other hand are a different story.

Not trying to be sensationalist but I reckon this is a pivotal moment in our growth as a club. We keep Stefano and we are truly building. We lose him and we are treading water at best and continuing the mantra that WestsTigers is not a club of destination. In this situation - throw the cheque book at him.

I agree Steve, if we lose Stefano it would be a big PR nightmare and not a vote of confidence in the people running the club.

100%. If he re-signs it's a show of confidence that the club is heading in the right direction. Pretty catastrophic for us if he decides to wait and test the market.

At the end of the day we need Stef a lot more than he needs us - every club will be lining up to sign him. Pay whatever it takes.

Have to agree. Let’s see what happens. To me Stefano is the kind of player that will encourage others along with him. Could be a Rosetta Stone in unlocking the future of the Wests Tigers.
