Alright guys, where do you see us finishing on the ladder after the 2026 regular season?

I want to go in all guns blazing and say top 8 but I am not convinced our purchases (probably still upgrades) and player movements are sufficient to do the job any better that thos year. They will need to be fitter and play for longer each game and for the whole season.

I still have hope but not entirely confident at this stage.

I think we can be fitter. Hopefully we’re a bit stronger up front too so we can more consistently win the collision.

The big thing though is depth. Are we better off than a year ago? I would say slightly better.

I agree we’ll be fitter, Benji laid down the law last year & I doubt anyone will test him this year, they know what’s expected. Quite a few already running despite returning Nov 3rd. And they should be doing all they can because over the next few seasons there’ll be terrific opportunities, at this club or others, to earn good money if they perform well enough. The timing is great for fringe 1st graders especially.

I’m assuming no one stellar will drop from the trees. Better players for the Magpies squad is therefore the key and for their new coach to be running a similar/same style as the 1st grade squad to better support them when the need inevitably arises.

We need a starting prop to make the 8 imo. I expect a lot of the younger guys (ie half of last year's team) to take a step forward in 2026, but we're still short up front.

If we can get the AD and Latu's positions sorted, and also not have to play Api and Terrell for 80 mins week in week out, we will just sneak into the 8.
