Articles about Galvin in both papers today

Both seem to suggest he could be in the running to play in our first game.

It would be a big call if he did

The club doesn’t seem to be playing it down so it could either be a genuine chance of happening or a complete smokescreen for someone else.

I can not beieve that this could be true. We have Sezer, who has played GF's, Sullivan who has played NRL, Fainu who has good Cup experience and they decide to go with a kid who has never  played Flegg?

Cant happen, surely?

I reckon it will be Sullivan and Sezer with Galvin at best on the bench if he fires in the trials.

I have fainu and Sezer pencilled in.

I'm gonna go out on a huge limb and say:

Sullivan at 7 and Galvin at 6

I have a feeling Benji would go for the younger players first to test them and use Sezer if they don't perform

Latu is suspended for round 1

And Sezer is only with us for this season

If Bud and Galvin show up - it gives us big upside

Wow....IMO that is probably the least likely partnership but would be equal parts exciting and terrifying.

We don't play round 1, fainu will serve his suspension in the trials and will be available for round 2.

Sorry I meant round 2 against Raiders

This article says Latu is unavailable:

but the more pressing concern is the four-into-two halves conundrum with the experienced Aidan Sezer, energetic Bud Sullivan, youngster Latu Fainu – who is unavailable for the Raiders game due to suspension – and Galvin.

Yeah it's crazy - but I can see Benji doing things his own way, which means we may get some surprises

Galvin and Latu played together at school - and are both yet to make their NRL debut. So while Latu is more well known than Galvin, they are both equally unproven

With Sullivan, given our investment in him, it's with finding out what he's got.

Latu has played at nsw cup and international level,  he has the stronger resume at this point.

Personally I think Sezer has to be there and expect him to be there. Benji has spoken about heeding experience and one place we need it is the halves.

Whoever Benji picks in the halves & there is a 50/50 chance of it being a young unproven player...

I just hope Heighno comes up to the forwards & reminds them to be looking after our young fellas!

Yeah agree,

Just listening to Benjis interviews, and knowing Benji who came straight from school into first grade,

I think he'll base it on whoever proves they want it more in preseason, over resumes.

Which is why I wouldn't rule out Galvin starting round 2

No way, would be repeating past mistakes.

I dont think we'll have the same 6 and 7 all season.

It will swap around, based on form, injury or fitness.

We'll probably see all combinations at some point.

I think the past mistakes was to have 2 young halves with no senior half to come in when needed.

I see the benefit of Sezer playing a lot of games as a senior and experienced half

but given he's not in the picture next year, I don't see the benefit in him playing every game this season
