Is anyone else going to the ten year member event next week?
It’s a bit of a weird one. Was set as a formal dinner and got postponed due to Covid a few times and now it’s a BBQ and a tour of the CoE.
Pretty sure they have counted my years in a weird way because I was first a member in 2004 but had a couple of years absent when I was overseas in the middle of it.

They don't have the records back that far. I have been a member since 2000 and they don't acknowledge it.

They don't have the records back that far. I have been a member since 2000 and they don't acknowledge it.
Thanks for that. I’ve always wondered why I got acknowledgments at weird times that didn’t correlate and that explains it.
Yeah their record keeping is terrible. I missed out on the 10 year event a few years back (despite the friends I sat with getting invited). Dropped them an email, a guy there called me and was very good about it all, offered a bunch of other opportunities.
Ok now I'm even more annoyed than I was last night!!! We are both 10 year members (hubby longer than that) and we haven't received an invite to this. We also pledged our memberships during COVID... sometimes things like this make me feel like such an idiot considering how much I support this club!!

No shock, the membership department is as inept as the rest of the organisation.

@the-last-ronin I got told the club doest have records of memberships prior to 2006
I had a 5 person family membership last year. I received emails saying “if you want to keep your membership you don’t have to do anything”. Christmas came and went and I heard nothing from the club. Eventually I called the membership team and they said my membership package doesn’t exist this year, only 4 person family memberships. No one called me to let me know, no email to explain.
This is what you get when you have an easy going CEO … if you’re the captain and run a tight ship these things do not happen . Sorry Pascoe needs to go these things do not happen in a well run club !
Yeah I'm going. I became a 10-year member at the start of COVID, so I think this is my 3rd or 4th invitation, the previous ones all cancelled due to lockdowns.
It sounds unfortunate for others, but my Dad and I have never had an issue with our memberships, basically always been on-time with all our details correct and we roll-over without too many hassles. Dad's been on the phone a few times to update contact details, that's about it.
Usually if you phone the club they can fix it up - I know you aren't supposed to have to do that, but they tend to be friendly about fixing it up for you.
