Why have both Penrith and Melbourne had 6 home games from their 1st 9 games

But the Tigers and Dogs have only had 3 home games from the 1st 9 games

Yes realize that that it will all be evened up in the end ....but for clubs like the 13th and 16th placed sides from 2021 getting a good start is crucial to everything ....sponsors , recruitment and retention ....maybe the coaches position at the club

We see the same theme ....not getting the 50/50 calls fall your way ......video refs go up as no tries instead of tries of vice versa when it is the "loved team " ...players getting binned at crucial stages late in halves .....6 agains when you just scratch your head at why they were even given ......

Forgive me .....but do I smell a Conspiracy ...thoughts

Absolutely stacked against the lower ranked side. It stinks.

The lower teams always get the rough end of the stick. I think the media supports this approach as well. As for the Bunker, it was introduced to reduce mistakes but somehow is contributing to more mistakes.

Cause they’re looking too deeply into each decision. It’s a game that has some degree of imperfection, it’s not an exact game of black/white decision/results from each play. You police it too strenuously and you end up with decisions that go against the vagueness of the game (like some held up decisions).

@unhappy-tiger

I just struggle getting my head around the fact the WT will have played Souths, Manly, Dogs, Warriors & Parra Twice before we play Penrith once.

All above plus Cowboys Twice before playing Brisbane.

Add Knights, Cronulla Twice before playing Easts.

And then add Dragons Twice before playing our one and only game against Canberra last round.

It means injuries, suspensions, season outcome motivation, you name it fill in the blank, are not as evenly distributed across all opponents as it should be.

How hard is it to form a draw playing everyone through once, than the double up opponents to finish the season.

Might be time to consider a US style setup? conference/divisions

Cause the current draw design is rubbish.

It was the same type of tactic they used to ensured Balmain and Wests could never meet the criteria in 1999, leading them both facing expulsion from the comp.

Home games were from mainly interstate teams, which always drew smaller crowds. They were also timed to ensure the smallest crowd. Away games were mostly against Sydney teams which usually drew larger crowds and at prime times.

it’s definitely rigged and has been from the beginning of the NRL.

Apologies if someone has already mentioned this weeks shambolic NRL draw observation,

The Dogs played Game 1 of Magic Round (Fri 6pm) Fresh Field

Tigers played Game 8 (Sun 6pm) Churned up field. In another state.

Dogs would have been back in Sydney Saturday id imagine.

This week WT v Dogs Friday at 6pm.

How is a draw that clearly in favour of one of the two teams even allowed past the draft stage?

Your not wrong about rigged.

The draw is a mess.

To add to this. If Magic Round is to be played in Qld, how hard is it to make the round a weekend when Qld teams have a home game. Only the Titans played the round as the home team.

Bronco's game was an 'away' game against Manly.

Cowboys game was an 'away' game against Tigers. (But hey, next time we get to go to Townsville!)

PLUS

The Cowboys only play 7 times in NSW/ACT this season which is pretty good for 25 rounds of football!

The NRL draw must be the worst in professional sports.
