@mike no , no end of story ! You’re wrong and now you’re carrying on like a child , and paraphrasing to a prove a point , that’s wrong anyway .
One I didn’t even say. Go cry over Hastings in a Newcastle jersey , forgetting the whole of season 22 , because he signed a few autograph as for you , and gave a few interviews . Ridiculous ! Now I’m finished …

All I see is you trying to justify why we came LAST. There is no justification for poor decision making and making the trades you wanted is exactly that. It is the end of story, we ran LAST and Hastings is playing finals. This is an indisputable fact.

@mike lol I didn’t justify anything bud . I just did Hastings is shit and wouldn’t have contributed to winning anything resembling an amount that would have made this conversation worth it .
And this team sux ! When you look for mental gymnastics like “at least we didn’t come last “ what is the actual point in that ?
It glosses over the facts. We are a shit team. And no amount Hastings esq plodders makes me change my mind .
There’s no difference between 16th and 17th .
What would 16th be a success ? In what way ? Other than the faintest glimmer of moral victory … which it isn’t .
Im glad we came last . There’s no where to hide. Now the right conversations can be had , the people within can have a long hard look at themselves . And we can move forward .
Im confident Benji will have those conversations .
Because for me , the only way this at all worth it , is if we never ever find ourselves in this position again. And the only way out of that , is stop shopping at plodderville . Which Hastings is a firm resident .

We get it. You don’t like Hastings. Hastings is playing finals and Wests Tigers came LAST, 17th worst than last year. Go Jacko.

@lestronge mate can we look at things on the other boot and just think where Newcastle finished last year. They as a team now has won 8 on the trot and playing finals this weekend. Yes Jacko has been out for 3 weeks, but he has added so much to the knights. The most important thing is that he is a smart player, might not be the quickest. He was what we’ve been looking for in years. Probably ever since Prince. And we let him go.

@loganr21 already answers this several times mate . He’s doing something for them that they desperately needed , which is march them downfield .
We got downfield all year . And then shit the bed repeatedly in the red zone .
Jackson Hastings is not fixing that , he’s not creative at all .
My whole rant is about how he wouldn’t have moved the needle at all for us , because he didn’t offer much above the existing shit halves we had . Evidence 2022 season .
Which is why I’m excited about Sezer/ Sullivan/ Fainu .
mine can do the Hastings part , ata fraction of the cost , and the others can offer the creative spark we desperately need .
He definitely 💯 went into sheens office last year and asked for a pay rise somewhere around 750k.
So if the alternative is Jackson Hastings on 750k and what we have for next year , and neither is in a vacuum , sorry but they’re not , then I chose not .
Because shit is shit . No difference between  shit with some veggies and nutrients (16th) and a big sloppy turd 17th .
It’s still faecal matter . And I’m astounded people want to argue differently .
As if Jackson Hastings staying would have changed our long term fortunes in a positive way .
what absolute nonsense ! He does a job ! And does it well. But we didn’t need a “organising half” which is the rage for some reason.
We need creativity , and this season has proven me and others right about that .
No creativity = no tries = no wins .

I look forward to the day that Jackson Hastings and Luke brooks are no longer points of discussion for us Tigers fans.

But we didn’t need a “organising half” which is the rage for some reason.

I don't want to prolong this silly debate any longer, but I've no idea how anyone who watched us muddle 90% of our last tackle plays this season could say this.

Yes we need creativity, and yes we need better gameplans from the coaching staff, but as much as anything else we needed some semblance of organisation out of the field, because we had zero this year.

Lol urgh ! I don’t agree at all . This whole organising half thing is a joke .
Is Hughes a organising half ? Don’t think so , and the bunnies will roll with. I half next year .
It’s a buzz word IMO . Hastings touching the ball 100 times a game for 12 points cool ….
For me any half I played with who organise just had us forward working towards a point on the field for them to hit thier shape and plays . Usually being a back rower I’d be aware of both .
For this honestly Wakeham did a good job . As good as Hastings .
Where we fault, is a half who strips numbers attacks key defenders not just for them to be where the defensive line hole is , but to collapse the defence and get them retreating, often to create the number discrepancies out wide .
You then attack an already stripped  defence with shape , creating  the holes numbers and numbers .
Is that an organising half ?
that’s not my definition of an organising half . Bur an attacking one .

Annorganising half gets your attacking half , into the position to achieve this .
Anyways …

Good summary of what we lack. Its part of why Im quite pessimistic about next year because even if Sezer/Bud/Fainu is that half, is the rest of our team coached well enough to be in place to attack with shape required. Ive seen no evidence that they are.

It wasn't $750k he asked for but he was definitely looking for a big increase.
