All 16 NRL halves pairings ranked
8. TIGERS
Halves: No.6 Jackson Hastings, No.7 Luke Brooks
Analysis: Adam Doueihi’s long-term injury has given star recruit Jackson Hastings the chance to form a combination with much maligned halfback Luke Brooks at the Tigers scrumbase. The Tigers have made some shrewd moves in the player market and will field a more competitive squad in 2022, which could provide the perfect opportunity for Brooks and Hastings to shine. Hastings is not the same player that left for the Super League after he took out the Man of Steel award in 2019 and he has unfinished business in the NRL. Brooks was linked to a move to the Knights in the off-season, but now that he is staying he will be keen to lay his ghosts to rest and finally lead the Tigers to the finals for the first time since 2011. Brooks has often been made the scapegoat for his side’s lack of success, but if the Tigers can start winning, Brooks can prove his doubters wrong and produce the type of footy that saw him crowned Dally M halfback of the year in 2018.
The Hastings-Brooks combo has the makings to be a big success or a big failure.
We’ve heard for years that it’s Brooks team, now, based on what we know about Hastings, he might be ready to take that ownership and this could potentially help Brooks.
Or there could be too many cooks spoiling the broth.
We’ll just have to wait and see.

Hey we made the 8. Let’s hope that is a sign.
Yes. @mike ,,We made the 8
Foxsports has them ahead of Raiders, Sharks, Titans, Dragons, Broncos, Bulldogs, Cowboys and Knights
a little surprised given our most maligned player and a guy out of the NRL a while..
I think it’s a fair assessment.. I would have them 1 spot higher ahead of the Warriors..
Well this looks promising let’s hope this partnership is the answer to our halves pairing issue…
And I also never knew anyone in the Nrl media knew how to write anything positive about the WT.
Personally I think they’ll balance each other out on the field. One’s an introvert while the others an extrovert let’s hope they can draw the best out of each other’s game.🤞

Fingers crossed, we’re due a bit of luck/for a plan to work out.

Or for chaos to magically align in the right outcome, but I think that was 2005.
