It's actually reassuring to hear that was actually the case. Makes the St George effort more understandable. 

Pretty excited for today tbh. Whilst there's still a long way to go, this is the first time in a long time that I've genuinely felt that the club is genuinely on the improve. 

But tempering the excitement at the same time, given:

• We're still in the very early stages of cultural change at the club, which was clearly a mess for a very long time. 
• The playing roster is still relatively very poor, after years of mismanagement. 
• The Benji appointment is something that I don't think any serious club would have even considered, let alone gone ahead with. 

That said, Benji is cut different to most so hoping he's able to become a coaching savant and succeed there much like he does at everything else. Would be an incredible buzz, as a fan, to have him leading the club back to success. 

  Benji was highly impressive in his pre-game presser.He put a few back in their boxes  forthrightly and skilfully, but in a completely composed manner.No emotional outrage,just calml objection to the lies and low smear of questioning his commitment and work ethic.I really hope the whole coaching staff can use this as a foil and fodder to inspire a huge effort this afternoon.The odds are against us but we can win this.Muscle up boys and bring home the bacon!!

So many unknowns, going to be fascinating to see how this unfolds, not just today but in coming weeks.

Everyone enjoy game day #1 for 2024.....this may be as good as it gets so lets live in the moment.

Good vibes didnt last long....

NSW cup will struggle for a while I think. A lot of kids playing against men for the first time, not many hardened vets. 

Will do them good in the longer term I guess.

Well this has been a very scrappy start to the season….

I’m in the USA so can’t watch the game live. Doesn’t sound so good early on!

No ball first 10 minutes
