Really disappointing again. I think we need to bite the bullet & make more changes, ie. don’t re-sign Brooks & Laurie, get pommy Williams & Welsby over here to take their place. I think that’s best for all parties.
Great plan but surely those guys would watch us play and say no thanks.
I think there is enough in this team for a good spine to take advantage of. Unfortunately only our #9 currently knows what to do with them.

Yep. Forwards have been great. Backs have shown glimpses. The 7,6 and 1 have been poor.
It just has to end with Brooks, no more.
To be clear he’s not a 7, he’s not a 6, he’s not a game manager, he’s not a running 5/8th.
Hes simply not an NRL standard player.
Its so frustrating as we clearly have almost a competitive side and you could swap literally any other NRL half back with Brooks and we would have won at least 2 of our 4 games.
Releasing Hastings because he “wasn’t a 7” was a catastrophic error and has led to the bin fire of this season which is almost done for us already.
Even though we have no one to replace brooks, I’ll still take no one.

We could probably play without a 7, 6 and 1 and no one would notice the difference.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
Would really like to see Matamua given a start next week just to add enthusiasm if nothing else although I do think he’d be a good link to the halves as well. I think Pole and Stefano would be better used off the bench, Stefano, Pole, Blore and Jake Simpkin (if ok). Not much else can do right now.
@the-last-ronin This club totally lives in the past .. there is not one individual in the club that has any vision for the future none! It’s just regurgitate the past and this has lead to over a decade of failure which continues today ! Right from the board to club administration there is not one leader that demands to move into the future or demands success!

it was a massive call and it’s backfired badly. It wouldn’t surprise me if Brooks never won another game in Tigers colours.
@avocadoontoast Do not worry Sheens will make sure of that !
The Storm were ordinary today but completed well and the one or two moments from Munster and Coates probably the difference. That’s one of quite a few things we’ve lacked for a number of years, those kind of players who can come up with those moments that make a difference. Nearly every other club has one, two or three of those kind of players. We should still be able to win more games than we are but are lacking the footy smarts to execute a simple game plan very well.

Grant, Munster, olam and brooks were the difference today. Unlike previous weeks, I reckon the opposition looked ordinary today because we made them look ordinary. Much straighter running by the forwards, quick play the balls and service at dummy half and great lines/timing by our edges had them on the back foot a few times. We just fluffed so many opportunities that ruined any momentum and good platform. So close but so far…
Come to think of it I’d like AJ Kepoa on the bench too if Talau is fit to play next week. AJ’s a bit of a tearaway so could provide good impact and cover centre and back row. So Stefano, Pole, Kepoa and Simpkins.Would really like to see Matamua given a start next week just to add enthusiasm if nothing else although I do think he’d be a good link to the halves as well. Melbourne we’re clunky too, have been for a few weeks but have the guys to provide the moments that make a difference when needed. We offered $1.4 mill a season (or more) to Munster for a reason. The Storm were ordinary today but completed well and the one or two moments from Munster and Coates probably the difference. Poor game by Brooks today, not sure where to go after that.
Don't think wakeham is the answer either though and neither is Douhie at fullback.
