@mike as Sheens puts it mike if he is not scoring 2 tries and setting up 3 then he gets criticism . Did he play a great game today, no but it was not that bad today probably 5/10 did some good things
I don’t think most fans expect that and personally I feel that Sheens is saying the bar is set high to divert attention.
All I want from Brooks is for the attack to look structured, and for him to stop making rookie mistakes.
Luke is a talented footballer but has not progressed passed being an average first grade half.
Just on AD - Sheens said he didn't train all week other than the captains run. Obviously shouldn't have played, was absolutely putrid.
@the-last-ronin the last deal he had signed has the big last year 2023. I don't think he sees himself as an elite 7 moving forward tbh. If his pay was around 700k for a half next deal (with the long service discount worked in to the cap for him and nofo) that is probably a fair salary as a 6 in today's market
Yeah I think he was playing injured through pain. If so he definitely shouldn’t have been on the field. It didn’t help the team.Just on AD - Sheens said he didn't train all week other than the captains run. Obviously shouldn't have played, was absolutely putrid.
@avocadoontoast lol Russell's please... Mate a few on there are AD number 1 ticket holders...
Just dint have the hate fie the bloke that others have, due to not playing finals he sure cops it.
@mike that stops his passing does it ? his passing was ordinary the week before too.
Agree if he was injured he should not have played

$700k is absolutely crazy money for what Brooks is giving us.
@dirty-reds I think 600k to 700k is minimum for a half in 2024. AD is on 650k or so as an example.
If you land Moses for 1.4 million and Brooks for 600k that is 2 million tied up in your halves

I don’t think it matters how much he is paid or worth in the market. Sometimes you just need to admit it isn’t working and move on. If Luke ends up somewhere else I wish he luck and if he stays here I hope he has a magic run of form to finish his career.
@the-last-ronin as a 6 I think he has something to offer the team at the right price point

To our team at the moment his value is pretty much $0.
Choosing who was worse between Brooks and AD is pointless, both were terrible and neither deserve a place in the team next week.
In truth it’s becoming clearer and clearer that releasing Hastings was a mistake and that’s squarely on Sheens.
Wakeham is no world beater but made a huge difference to our team today by being able to organise attacking plays.
I also thought Bateman was good all things considered and he will definitely add something to the team moving forward.
@tiger5150 slightly worse than Brooks, AD was disgraceful at 6 and also at 1. We can't magic up a player for next week it's either AD or Brooks at 6 or Laurie but think he is on the outer.
your point being? Both AD and Brooks were terrible. You are happy with slightly less bad?
Am a little concerned wakeham came on fresh and looked good against tired players but should be picked against storm
Why would you be concerned that a player came on and played well? I would be concerned if he didnt based on what Brooks and AD dished out. That is the one shining light that Wakeham provides a real option. Before you argue that the opposition were tired, you dont provide that as an excuse for Brooks try and line break do you? It also disgregards Wakehams form in the trial and in both KOE matches this year.
