@dirty-reds he will get a contract
Why?
And more pertinent, why on earth would be want to stay? Surely his day to day life is pretty miserable being so linked with the ultimate laughing stock sporting organisation in this country?
I'd take less money to play in the UK if I were him, at least he might be happy.
The uncomfortable truth is that if you swapped the two teams half backs today then the result is flipped.
And that’s 100% on Sheens.
Completely disagree. Hastings did nothing other than shovel on. On a couple of occassions he actual crashed their attack as he passed to a player behind another. On one occassion Gagai had to kick because Hastings passed it to him, behind two players with no support. Hastings had 1 run and was crunched. Both our halves were better than Hastings today and that is not praise.
No, he got the result. End of story.
He didnt panic, kicked for twice the distance Doueihi did and directed a side limping badly to victory.
It is what we miss, but alas...he is too slow apparently.
Not what I saw. I saw a bloke stand back and point. I saw a bloke hardly run all game and a bloke with zero try assists, zero LBA, zero line breaks. IMO Gamble led them today.
I see Jackson Hastings with zero repeats sets, I see Brooks with 2 forced drop outs and one 40/20 plus a one on one steal.
I get that people hate Brooks and Sheens, but .............
didn't see the press conference any mention of not taking the 2 by Sheens after simpkin went down ?
In the stands you could see trainers on the bench were signalling 2 and heighno ran on but api decided to tap and go

Sheens said he was happy that to go with the on field decision. He didnt say it, but IMO it was clear that it was Sheens decision to take the two. Api took responsibility for calling to play on.
@dirty-reds all his family in Sydney despite what others have said Newcastle was never a realistic option.
If a Sydney club came knocking he may well sign elsewhere but apart from dogs can't see any.
As for u.k. super league no chance
Welcome to gen y Tim… think this might be too big of a job for you to handle.didn't see the press conference any mention of not taking the 2 by Sheens after simpkin went down ?

don't mind swapping AD and Laurie and go with
1. AD
6. Laurie
@tiger5150 thanks mate, strange decision not to take 2
Agreed. Taking the 2 was the sensible option.

Funny that, what I saw was Hastings executing in the red zone and organising attacking plays which ultimately won his team the game.
All this despite key players in his team going down like flies around him.
Nobody hates any Tigers players or coaches but some people can see what staring them in the face.

There's probably a reason why no other Sydney team would come knocking.
I just can't understand why either party would want to continue this relationship. It's been 10 years of complete and demoralising failure.
@celtic_tiger yes exactly what Jacko did today. Their first try was set up by dare I say it, a halfback straightening the attack getting gamble on the outside of Brooks. And it was draw and pass from there.
I cannot stomach too much more of Luke Brooks. I'm happy to hear fans defend him but my opinion is that he cant read the game well enough to play NRL. He does not organise plays or direct other players around the field. For 80 mins yesterday I doubt he opened his mouth once. Halfback is too critical a position to have someone like him weighing down the team.
We played great footy in a trial game 3 weeks ago when he did not play.
As much as I hope a changes is made at No. 7 we as fans need to remind ourselves that Sheens never, ever makes changes barring injury.
@mickb I’ve been over him for 6 or 7 years now. But our so called saviour of a coach/s and I say plural, Marshall should cop a spray here too. Both eager on coaching him. When we had an opportunity to move him on we folded. They have painted themselves into a corner now and it’s the poor old supporters that have to cop it.
Let’s make it clear, I’m not blaming Luke for losing game yesterday. Plenty other culprits for that, but why can’t we bring the so called ‘training good’ team to game day 🤷♂️

Api doesn’t know our blokes well enough yet.
He won’t make that mistake again.
