Last night sucked. Was never going to be our night. There was a sense from the kick off we were off. Api and Brooks being out means our season is 100% over, will be lucky to win any games from here.
Some thoughts from last night.
Bula and Brooks were both very good. Brooks was trying to get the team going but they weren't responding. Bula is a total superstar.
Bateman is a lot more valuable to us on an edge than in the middle.
Wakeham makes Jackson Hastings look like Usain Bolt. Never seen anyone move slower. Also one of the worst games i've seen from a player. Replays of the game should be after 10pm so kids don't have to watch.
Talau is awful. How he was there over Naden beggars belief. He should have been hooked and Kepaoa should have been brought on.
I hope Da Silva is good because Simpkin is not.
Blore is and never will be a first grader. He's got absolutely nothing. If anyone will take him get rid of him.
I was in favour of Joffa going but in hindsight it was disastrous. Seyfarth is bad, Blore is worse. We have weakened our pack and it appears there was never a plan to replace him.
Yep, pretty much agree with all of this.
I’m not a fan of moving players around, weakening one position to try to strengthen another doesn’t work out too often. Batemen needs to stay on the edge.
@tiger5150 I think Blore is a middle . He’s not dynamic enough for an edge . He is solid defensively and hits hard , and his one attacking move appears to be standing in tackles and offloads ….. that’s a middle not an edge player .
Putting my conspiracy hat on , I heard last year that Blore was moving into the middle and it never eventuated . I’m wondering if him playing last night was secretly a way to say “see you are not an edge player “ . Not that they threw the game away , but it’s interesting that his name comes up in the trade column , and he gets a run .
Too bad him and Talau both stunk the joint up . Would have been good them both to have reasonable games so we can pack thier bags to manly .
I too have thought Blore is more of a middle, but haven’t seen enough of him on the field to make a judgment. He did look slow last night for an edge.

that Titans try (I think second) that commentators blamed Brooks for was disgraceful from Blore. He was bludging inside, didn’t push up and literally is standing there getting no one. Brooks pushes in to clean up Blores man and then tries to slide out to get the player that scores because talau is just standing outside getting no one as well. Brooks gets up blowing up and rightly so
- It was a disappointing display no doubt but for mine primarily because of self inflicted elementary errors. We never really allowed ourselves to build any semblance of sustained pressure and gave the Titans carte blanche to build their game.Every error inflated their confidence and accordingly deflated ours and with the Api and Brooks injuries it was always a bridge too far.Having said that I still believe that we played with a certain resilience and never threw in the towel.Last year there would have been an avalanche of points against us.
To me Naden has consistently been the potent centre, and without knowing the inner sanctum’s rationale I was more than mystified that he doesn’t just walk back into the side.
I know that straight after a loss there is a good deal of raw emotion that govern the comments but I really take exception to to earth sweeping declarations about players,in this case from Avo who states that Shawn Blore is not a first grader and never will be.Maybe he was found wanting on a couple of occasions but he did good things as well.In perspective Blore is really only just commencing his career and is on the steep learning curve.Negation of someone in this fashion I find to be as negative and puerile as the comment itself. That’s nothing personal but for heaven’s sake it is of no constructive benefit to anyone.
On the subject of big Tino after having watched the tackle on numerous occasions I think he can count himself pretty fortunate. This guy just has to amend his technique. As far as I’m concerned within that play there were two discernible movements and there’s no doubt he led with his forearm and made contact with the head.Very similar to the Reed Mahoney tackle.I heard someone make the comment that if JWH performed the same act he’d be doing a 6 match stretch.I have to agree.Tino is fast tarnishing his reputation as the big softly spoken angel sporting the halo.

This is a forum where we discuss the performances of professional athletes who play for the team that we all love. Not everyone is a first grade standard professional rugby league player, I certainly wasnt. But not everyone has the right to be a first grade rugby league player, regardless or the arc of their career. There are players who are simply NOT first grade standard and that is not a personal slight or slander on that person, its a statement of opinion. I share Avo's opinion that Shawn Blore is not a first grade player and I base that in watching the games he has played and most specifically at this latest stage where he has had the time to develop in NSW Cup and then step up on the main stage with everything in his favour. He still couldnt manage to put in the effort necessary. To suggest that anyone that holds that opinion, about a professional athlete, on a discussion forum, is negative and puerile is a pretty strange and frankly offensive take.

I agree 100% with this comment. There was definitely a second motion to lead with the arm as well. Without this second motion Api’s jaw doesn’t break.
17th here we come
We remain 16th thanks to 3 late trys by the Wabbits. Even though the Dragons won those trys messed up the Dragons for and against.
Edit: unless we win another game we will be 17th. Dragons have won 4, Wests Tigers have won 3…
@tiger5150 No problem,my intention was not to offend and I did preface my criticism of the fact that people can be pretty emotionally charged after a bad performance.Of course this is a forum,a platform for discussion and accordingly everyone is entitled to their opinions.I always hold fast to those precepts and I make it a point to play the issue not the man.In this case the same thing applies.I have no truck with Avo and enjoy his input but I still stand by what I stated.Essentially I’m saying I found Avo’s take puerile,”Blore isn’t,and never will be a 1st grader. He’s got absolutely nothing”.Put in perspective here is a 22 year old with 20 odd games under his belt, and my argument is that perhaps it’s a little premature to be summarily dismissing him as a worthless crock. That is my opinion and like I said my intention was not to offend but to simply air my viewpoint that doesn’t coincide with his declarations.

I dont want to get into a back and forth with you or anyone here, and you have put your case well and calmly...but again in this post you state that you should be able to have your opinion and it doesnt line up with Avo. Avo (and I) have a different opinion, but that is puerile. Weird take.
you are of course entitled to your opinion whether I agree with it or not and in a forum like this, I'd think that you are entitled to your opinion without a personal slander. your opinion isnt stupid, childish, silly, immature....its your opinion. Would think Avo (and I) would be entitled to the same.
Truly dont want a response, correction, apology or anything. Dont want to get into an argument. Just....IMPO a weird take.
@loganr21 Well that didn't go exactly to plan Logan, better luck against the Storm 🤞🙏
