Anyone else notice Pole backing his way out of the defensive line on Junior Tupou’s 2nd try? Really smart play making sure the obstruction call was taken right out of play. Everyone played well tonight but when you see players doing the little things you know they are on.
Morning all. Apologies i haven't read through the comments however..
Good luck trying to pick a top 3. I've got:
3 Starford To'a (made Valentine Holmes look like Nathan Milone)
2. Brooks / Klemmer
3 Bula / API
Special mention to Bateman, Stef and Joe O
I was in the grandstand and the crowd was fantastic. Felt like the team had that killer instinct last night. Foot on the throat and didn't really let up. Had two opportunities to take the two and backed themselves to score and did both time.
Gee I think other than playing ability our big four new signings have been huge for us in terms of leadership on the pitch (and I'm sure at training), all four are winners, experienced and lead by example.
You would think Starford and Naden to lock up the centre positions for the rest of the year along with Nofo and Junior. Bula at the back we are finally getting some stability and hopefully they can just continue to build on combinations instead of chopping and changing players as we have done in the past.
Last things I thought Wakeham did a lot of good things which probably go unnoticed. Amazing goal kicker, actually straightens the attack and digs into the line before passing quite well and defence was solid. For someone who was brought to the club as a backup on not much money he is out there doing his job and I would say doing his job well.
Anyone got news on injuries? I noticed a few blokes late come off or limping towards the end of the game!
My 'one word' is season defining. I hope this acts as a big building block for us to continue to improve and just go from strength to strength.
just watched a replay that Bateman try was sensational
Ive watched that try about ten times now and we would never have scored that try at any time since 2012. Dare I say it, it was a "Sheens" try.
No it wasn’t a dream.

It's a variation of a play we ran a bit when he was here last time. We scored a try from it in the 2011 semi win against the dragons.
Staines try against the Dogs came from a similar move - though Wakeham/Brooks (I forget who) threw the dummy and went straight through themselves.
Just watched the presser and I am surprised by Tim’s comments on the bunker. I get the Twal one that was confusing and seemed to take a while.
I’m happy with the Joe one being a no try he brushed over the ball with his hands. Yea his forearm pushed the bouncing ball down but it wasn’t an intentional action.
looking at the replay I think Luciano was onside on the kick
@jedi-tiger id say they were practicing it at training , and for whatever reason it didn’t have the polish in it . I think it really relies on Bula Running no fear through the middle of the field .
Laurie and AD would run something similar a couple of years ago , but it didn’t have the panache and “wtf was that” shell shock the one last night did .
It had everyone wearing a cowboys emblem looking around for someone to blame .
It was right up there with the play we ran against them in the semis in 05 where benji put Hodgo through . In terms of Looking around for answers . Chefs kiss

The whole night had a touch of that. You need to remember the previous week we didn't score a point, it is almost like they have been working on this more uptempo attacking style for weeks and last night were told to implement it for the first time. Sort of felt like a long rope a dope on the cowboys.
