I think that is the problem right there, he played a good game today but just isn't creating enough opportunities. Even at his best he hasn't been creative enough in the redzone.
This is unarguable....on his own. If he had help it might be different. We need to replace at least 1.5 halves. Wakeham is trying and 100% playing his best, but isnt good enough. We MUST replace Wakeham as a priority and then look at replacing Brooks.

Totally agree. My point is that we are very unlikely to snap up an NRL quality 7 and an NRL quality 6 between now and Feb 24. The priority for recruitment should be a 7 with a great passing and kicking game (particularly short). Grab that player and Wakeham doesnt play firsts. Then our priority should be a 6 that is good NRL standard, grab that player and then Brooks doesnt play NRL. Doueihi has a lot to worry about before worrying about NRL.

@tiger5150 we are on the same page. I’ve been saying for a while I can take Brooks as 6 if we get a quality 7 mainly because I know we aren’t going to get a decent 7&6 at the same time.

I agree. I was more defending Wakeham as he is the level everyone knows he is. Brooks on the other hand seems to have people insisting he’s a first grader

this is true and the saddest part about that statement is we let Madden and Hastings go and sign Wakeham at the 11th hour in desperation. Those two aren’t world beaters but probably offer more than Wakeham

Madden was offered the backup role that ultimately went to Wakeham but didn't want it. Hastings we should have kept but I couldn't have matched his offer from the Knights for next year but would have made him stay this year.

Comparing Brooks to Wakeham is pretty unfair. You’re comparing a guy on minimum wage who came to play backup to one of the highest paid players in the game. I think Brooks is the better player but he’s delivering value to the team that is about $800k below what he’s getting paid. Wakeham is performing as he should given what he’s paid.
Our problems are ALL our halves. None of them are part of the solution.
